Finally and one of the coolest of all was JT saying that the Estate gave him original stems from IWD4U to use live. Listen again....beautiful!!!

I definitely heard 1999 as a bumper (never knew the term bumper until now). I think that the exposure for Prince was great. I live in Philly, and there were a bunch of reporters from Philly in the Twin Cities because the Eagles were playing. Over the past week, I definitely saw on the local Philly news footage/reporting from Super Bowl Live, including the Paisley Park exhibit there. I'll bet that Paisley Park got a big increase in foot traffic over the past week.

What was your favorite Super Bowl halftime show to do? Prince. Even though you said he was difficult to work with? Yes. It was torrential rain. We built the beginning of the show in CG. We showed the outside of the stadium with these big lightning bolts cracking down and then the ribbon board around the stadium was all electrified. Then, out of the smoke comes Prince like he was shot down out of the heavens to start the show. That was the concept. We took exterior shots of stadiums and they built this big lightning effect. Turns out on the night of the show it really was a lightning storm.

The actual show was all live once Prince took the stage. The cgi part was only during the shots of the outside of the stadium.

The smoke effect happened because of the rain. At the rehearsals he rose up through fire, not smoke.

I was scared they were gonna fry poor Prince.
