No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams

Why dont you post the letterman performance of dolphin or gett off so we can hear how brilliant (flat) his vocals sometimes were punk, or the chaka khan tribute where sings the “the second voice- horrible“ ....👎👎👎

I love his music and voice but „all that glitters aint gold“

Dear Misused, Prince was super-human, not God.
Of course he had his bad days.

But compared to the (vast) majority of pop singers, he topped them all.
Like the revolution, his best were not televised.

Go look for some decent bootlegs instead of the telly.
Nevertheless, I dare you to find an artist giving live performances such as Prince's.
Going for the latter years is not really fair, and you know it.

yeah... there was one in the 90s when he was sick and he asked the audience if he should do the show or reschedule... he did the show but apparently it showed.

Do you remember which show this was?

First initial reaction.
Then I found a good audio source.

There's a take-it-or-leave-it in some of Prince's best live performances.
Like in "Shhh", it's mostly in the voice-guitar responses.
I think he steals it.
It took my years to appreciate the boobamsticness of his "One Of Us".
Prince likes his heavy-metal gospel of some kind. All spaced-out.

He tries stuff, he tries to sing it in a different way.
Yes, he stretches his voice, but he knows exactly when and where to cut it.
Theatrically, it's so great. That is showmanship, right there.
You can make up for vocal in poor shape nights.
Still going after those damn falsettoes, and the crowd follows.

But "Creep" is mostly about the guitar performance, so not fair.

Eh, to each his own. wink But I remember it as being the first (maybe only?) vocal by him that I just didnt really like.

Peace'
