I own purple rain and under the cherry moon but as of yet havent got around to watching this is it worth watching? I literally have no idea what its about if its just a film showing off princes music it cant be too bad.

but Elephants & Flowers makes it worth while 2 me.

I love Prince but it could be in the top 10 worst films ever made. My sister, who i asked to go and watch it for me in america didnt forgive me for years after, because it was so bad. Thankfully she went to the musicology show years later and it redeemed both Prince and me in her eyes!

You're not a true Prince fan unless you have this in your collection. You might like it and then again you might not. It's not the greatest movie ever made. It's not the worst movie ever made. It's Prince. They're are some great songs in there- Elephants & Flowers, Round & Round, Still Would Stand All Time, etc.

I haven't seen it in yonks but remember the sets being pretty rubbish. The "bridge and rocks" looked like they'd been made out of paper mache and painted grey from what I recall but hey, it's Prince singing, dancing and looking mighty fine so I say watch it.

I have a soft spot for Graffiti Bridge, it's so bad it's good,

Made for a low budget and yet it STILL manages to look cheaper than it is. The soundtrack is its only saving grace but you'd be better off just listening to the album rather than putting yourself through the torture of watching the movie. In fact, you'd be better off hammering rusty nails into your eyes than watching the movie.

FFS, can't you people make up your own minds about shit? You need to be spoon fed opinions to tell you how to feel about something.

I never get why "fans" ask "is this worth" such n' such. If you're a fan, don't you wanna see & hear everything anyway to create your own decision and idea on it? Why take someone else's opinion?

It's like asking "Is 'Something In The Water' really worth listening to?"

I get that people were disappointed by it 28 YEARS AGO when it first came out! I was one of those people (to some degree).

IMO, time has been kind to 'Graffiti Bridge' FOR PRINCE FANS - not general moviegoers - because after all it's one of only three narrative feature films starring him that we have.

If you like the soundtrack (which happens to still be among my fave P albums of ALL TIME) then the movie is a NO BRAINER.

I wish the Blu-ray was 5.1 instead of 2.0, BUT it's LOSSLESS DTS-HD 2.0 and sounds pretty damn good.

Get it, CRANK it up, and bask in the ambition that P brought to the movie by writing, directing, scoring, and starring.

Yes, but at this point who cares? It's 90 minutes with about, what 60 of those minutes devoted just to the music? Cool performance sequences (essentially music videos, "Thieves" and "Round and Round" were lifted album unedited from the movie for MTV airplay) of songs like "Elephants and Flowers," "Tick Tick Bang," The Time doing "Release It," "love Machine," the incomparable Mavis Staples tearing it up on "Melody Cool" -- THIS MOVIE IS A MUST for anyone who calls themself a Prince fan!

I will join in and agree that it is well worth seeing. I remember going to see it opening weekend (I don't assume it was in the theaters for too much longer). JUst manage your expectations...I wish I had a full length Prince movie to watchj that I hadn't already seen...

Well, I liked it!!! It had a good theme - good overcoming evil.

Chile, Its a damn mess! BUT his hair is laid to the GAWDS, The Time is there and they're always entertainingly bad at acting. Robin Powers ol long booty ass in there, so I guess girl. Lemme tell you now, just go with it. Ain't no deeper meaning, just Prince's antics and hair swinging bullshit.

But its cute or whatever...
