I think this video may have aired a few times back then,but it was not widely shown.I never saw it on MTV,for example.

Not exactly... It was broadcast by multiple stations in at least Europe... After the song failed to chart significantly it was dropped...

I just spent a few hours watching Prince Videos on Youtube(including I Hate U) and now i feel pretty emotionally drained. Since Prince's death, and up until now, i hadn't listened to much of his music, so hearing and seeing those videos kind of put me in a reflective mind frame. Especially in watching the older ones. Seeing stuff i hadn't seen in decades(or don't remember seeing at all), kind of messed with my head.

In spite of the sorrow, I'm grateful that those videos are there for us to enjoy. And especially in such good quality.

There is no extended version of this video as far as I know, it has always been like this.

This great song would have deserved a better video. It's cheap and cheesy. Well, that doesn't change the quality of the song.

but compared to his phenomenal music his vids often lagged far
behind. not sure if i mind though, he gave the songs a visual and
moved on instead of having to milk tracks for 6 months because

I think it was on the VH1 Video Break special where he took it over and played only his videos and associated artists. It started off with him cringing at a Madonna video and them hacking into VH1's broadcast.

It wasn’t on the love4oneanother film and I’m not sure if it was on the VH1 special either. . I’ve only ever known a poor quality grainy version to have been in circulation. The single was released without the video. [Edited 1/27/18 8:15am]
