New Years Eve Show AT PP 1987 Recording

I just found a decent recording of the 1987 Paisley Park new years concert with Miles.

This show is spectacular. The band is so fucking tight and Prince is just at the very, very peak of his powers.

I've seen footage of It's gonna be beautiful night before but to hear the full show is a treat.

Anyone else dig this recording??

It's quickly become a boot fav for me.

Yes, it's a great show and the band is on fire. I especially love the version of If I Was Your Girlfriend and Prince's take on Auld Lang Syne.

The normal video bootleg of this starts midway through the concert somewhere around the Sheila E drum solo. I've never seen footage from before that except on the Prince Omnibus/PBS documentary from 1989 which does show Sign o' the Times.

CD name:Prince New Years Eve 1987

There is no label, it only says "all rights reveserved, unauthorized duplication is a violation of

applicable laws". 333 copies were made of this CD.

Also says "promotional only, not for sale".

I always wished Prince played an instrument with Miles at this concert.

I always thought IIWYG did not have the same 'tension' on this show that it did on the concert-movie or other live shows.

They sure were having a lot of fun on this one though.

Does anyone remember the funny insult "Why, you..."?
Who is the poor victim getting it?

What a great bootleg.

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

What a great bootleg.

The victim was Jon Bream, a staff writer at the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper. In the early 90s he was banned from Glam Slam and shows at Paisley Park. Prince reached out to him in 2013 during the LOL tour and they did a print interview.

Ah ok. So it's just another rehash release.
Too bad, I was hoping that the full show finally was released.
