Song: Prince and the band High,
Does anybody know if there is a studio version of the song "Prince and the band"? I
Has he ever recorded it with the band?
Thanks,

I think there was an original studio version (or demo) that prbably dates back to 2000-2001. I first heard him perform it live at the last celebration called Xenophobia, and the song had a mean hard beat with the lyrics rapped over it. I believe the studio version that was played over a PA might be a remix just like the remixes that were heard of Kiss, Sexy MF, during that later 2000’s era. I could be wrong! Actually they mention the possibility of a studio version from 2002, then a re-recording in 2007. I believe that might be true. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

IT wasn’t a hard grove it was actually really laid back, it was a rap though. He was sitting on the drum riser as he rapped it. Slower, but I’m that same style as Race.

2007 version was played over the PA before a couple of the Indig02 aftershows that year. Maybe one day it'll see the light of day, if we're lucky My password is what

He was lying on his back on the stage, looking up holding the mic over and close to his mouth! I remember looking at his face profile and also reminded of the end of the movie performance of Beautiful Ones wondering if people in the back even knew where he was. And I believe he was under a piano or it’s bench almost hiding for a good portion of it. And I remember it being a driving beat in terms of its pace, minimalism, and impact but maybe that was because of the volume level live. I’ll find the recording and check. I liked it. Prince did it on his Musicology concert tours.

He recorded everything, I am sure there is a studio version. Heck, there is probably a studio version of him takin a leak. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013
