Printable I remembered when he performed on Jay Leno he had shoes no heels. He looked funny without the heels. I guess we are sooo use to seeing him wearing them.  | |

Say it ain't so. I was in  with the heels. They were beautiful.
If it's about his feet hurtin', then it would actually be a very bad idea for him to quit wearing the heels. After 25-odd years of wearing them, his feet would be slightly deformed, and likely wouldn't even fit properly into flat shoes. If he's not wearing them cuz he's "doing the Work", then that's also a stupid reason. It's not like he'd be banned from heaven/paradise/disneyland if he was wearing heels. I mean let's see, if Prince wore Khaki's, a Le Tigre shirt, brown topsiders and a Members Only jacket, okay, in purple, in the Little Red Corvette video, you would have not cared... Or wore a tank top with black jeans and white sneakers in the Kiss video, you wouldn't have given a rat's ass. Or what if you opened up your Sign O The Times record and saw Prince showing off his Wingtips with the peach clothing and leather jacket...you wouldn't have cared... Raaahahaaiight! The heels are what made Prince, Prince! He is the ONLY one that can get away with wearing them. He doesn't look silly in them, he made them cool, he made wearing heels a statement of individuality, of sexuality, of Funk. Furthermore, it freaks the homophobes out. Good, I always thought. The heels also freak out the white folk. The Heels are his trademark. It's all about being free. Uptown. It's about the FUNK. Everybody doesn't take it that seriously. But if you do that's fine. Just don't expect everybody to share you view of him wearing shoes other than boots, for cryin out loud.  This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |

shoot...alls I know is that if I wore high heels for 20+ years, my feet would hurt like hell.

No, it isnot important what kind of shoes the man wears.
The sad part about this is someone telling him not to wear them and he follows their advice. The JW may have told him not to wear them because of vanity or pride, which they claim is a sin. But, if Prince wears them because he wants to look a little taller, I think God still loves him and doesn't give a rat's ass what kind of shoes Prince wears. | |

No actually, my posts here are meant to be somewhat comical! And really and I agree with CalhounSq that as long as he hits the stage with them that would be great. I'm not expecting anyone sharing my views at all. It would just be a shame if this was true that Prince actually would start NOT wearing his boots because of religions or beliefs influenced by others. I always admired Prince for being an ICONOCLAST, and individual and the freedom he expressed by "walking his own walk", especially in those shoes. "The sun will shine upon U one day. If U're always walkin'your way" But no-ones really verified this as true so we may just be gettin' all tangled for nothing. | |
