Last monday I saw Candy Dulfer on Belgian tv, in a talkshow called "De laatste show" (The last show). She has a new cd out and before she played a song of that, she was interviewed by the host.
Of course one of the topics that came up was her work with Prince. She said that it was a lot of fun and a great experience to work with such big names (some others were named, but I can't remember who).

The host asked her "how's Prince and what's he like", she "said I can't work with people that aren't normal. And lots of famous artists aren't..." she didn't name any names though.
They asked her if she was chosen to work with the big names because of her musical qualities. She said "yes, because you can hide the fact that you can't sing. But you can't hide that you can't play when you're playing saxophone, because if you can't do it right, it sounds terrible." and "they have plenty of beautiful women around them, and I'm not that beautiful anyway."
The host wanted to know what she calls Prince. Does she say Prince or something else? She said that calling him by his name is rare, but that people rarely call eachother by the name when they are talking; she usually just says hi.
Candy also remarked that there are a lot of very talented artists out there, that aren't famous, and who are as good or even better than all the famous people earning millions. When the host said (half joking) "so then Prince isn't all that special", she disagreed with him and said "no HE IS special, he's deserved/earned it".

It was a nice interview, with only nice things to say about Prince, and with some humor.

The song she played was very nice. I can't remember the title, I think it was something like "How I Love". The music was cool, kinda jazzy/funky, but the text was a bit boring. She sang it herself. It's the first time she sings on her own songs.
She said that she didn't want to sing at first, but her producers said she should, because the songs are so personal. She said that in the end they agreed that if it was asuccess it would be her idea, and if it was a flop it would be their fault.
