Which God Does Prince Worship?

Now dat Prince Is A JW, do u think he really means it 2 stay? Cuz hes more moral than a JW, with ethical way he leads his life (a vegan). Maybe he has different beliefs?

I have listened 2 most of Princes material, and he was quoted once 4 sayin, 'I don't talk much (gives interviews) but if u wann know me read my Lyrics', meanin listen 2 his music'. So take 4 example Animal Kingdom, the first part, says, 'If God wanted milk in me The breast I suck would have a line around the hood', so the song as a whole, and dat line, is a belief which he beleives and not instiled by his religion. There is references 2 this in all his discography, Silicon, Rainbow Children, etc The whole meanin dat he was choosen.

Cuz we all have diferent interparatations of what God is what he wann's.

Dag, what is it with you guys? This a Prince DISCUSSION FORUM. And all a lot of you do is put people down for trying to start a discussion. If you don't have a substantive response, move on.

P.S., paradoxically, the Meat Loaf icon is now meatloaf.

Ok so Prince was not a JW when he wrote the song, but he was religious and even now is still a vegan. So my point is if hes a real JW then y does he stay as a vegan? Thus he conducts his life not as a JW, better.

Larry Graham, is nothin compared 2 Prince, Prince was sellin millions even before Larry Graham was heard of, by fams.

1: His choice to be a vegan or not, got nothing to do with religion.

2: Mr Larry Graham has been around longer than Prince.

sambluedolphin, the ONLY thing that has been confirmed is that Prince is what JW's refer to as an unbaptised Publisher--E Entertainment in 2001. This is an individual who is an approved associate that is allowed to go from door to door.

As far as what god Prince worships--in he's case it's a toss up between himself and the Almighty. Seriously though.

Basically, you have to kinda fault Prince for this. He used a highly personal experience (finding God) for what I have come to believe for the wrong reasons. Mainly to draw attention to himself.

I've heard all the theories: he's using he's freedom of speech, he's sharing, he's preaching the good news, etc., etc. But when the smoke clears the only impression he has left me with is that it was done to draw attention to himself.

Eh, all this public preaching Prince has done in he's music, definately makes me wonder: is it praise for God or praise for Prince? I choose the latter.

It's also SAD. TRC screams: look at me! Listen to me! Pay attention to me! Not for the fans (or fams) who have choosen to stay, but for those he wishes to get back.

Very logical when you realise that Prince is the type of person who LIVES FOR AN APPLAUSE and ATTENTION. Almost everything he does nowadays is for that. And I think it was wrong of him to use religion in this manner--dispite all the spiritual journey theories.

You mean to tell me that Prince, the guy who has had a sex fiend rep since his early years, the man who brought controversy upon himself and his work, only in part because of that, thinks that an album imbued of a subversive (to the mainstream who doesn't follow his every move) religious doctrine will bring back fans who jumped off the bandwagon back in the 80s? The same album that isn't pushed by Arista, or EMI? The same album that isn't pushed by payola on the radio? That same album that could realistically be considered the most risky of his career? The same album that takes rhino balls to release, for many reasons stated and unstated in this post?

hmmm Yes, that's logical.

I think the best way to discribe Prince's approach is to call it SHOCK TREATMENT. In his mind, I think he was convinced it might have worked. After all, who'd expect this from him, right? At this point in his career, and from long observation, I feel it's safe to say that Prince is not above this...
