Prince: Purple Reign: A Colouring Book As someone who has loved Prince's music since I was a teenager and has been a member of this commmunity (under various names) since 1998, it was a pleasure to be asked to write the text for this book. More than a colouring book, each one of the 30 illustrations by Coco Balderrama includes a history of the time period and quotes from Prince and his associates, presenting a chronological timeline from Prince's first photo shoot in 1977 to his final Piano & A Microphone tour in 2016. Prince advocated breaking down boundaries and stepping out of the mould, adopting different personae to give himself greater freedom with his music and championing sexual fluidity and equality.
Detailing some of the lesser known facts about his life, Prince: Purple Reign: A Colouring Book, illustrates Prince's most memorable looks. So much more than a colouring book, each image has a history, with quotes from Prince and the people who knew and worked with him. This unique volume gives fans the opportunity to pay their own tribute, and raise their purple pencils to the legendary performer that was Prince.
