Plans for YOUR Prince collection after death?

So Prince could have planned better as to what to do with his music in the event if him passing.

Whatever the reasons or cirsumstances it is what it is. Got me thinking...I imagine a lot of folk here must have HUGE Prince catalogs some rare and worth a small fortune. Has anyone thought about what will happen to it after you die? Will you pass it on to someone who will appreciate it or dont really care if your kids/family sell it off to make a quick buck?

None of my family are into Prince, I possess hundreds of albums official and non official mostly in digital format now. I also have Clemintines 'On the One' book offical art prints, including CDs of One Nite Alone and sealed copy of 'Crystal Ball', together they must be worth over $1000.

I gave my nephew the Prince Rockabye Baby album. I aspire to make him a fan so that he inherit my bootlegs.

On Amazon I saw the Purple Rain album with the purple vynil for $100-$300. That's a start.

I often bought multiple copies of vynil. Not sure why I need 3 sealed copies of the Family album. biggrin

Actually I do have my Prince collection in my will. It will go to my brother. I believe he will do right by the collection. Where he lives, there is a great number of P fams, so even if he chooses not to keep the collection, there's plenty of us around him to lighten his load wink .

Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

I currently know none who are as strong a Prince fan as I am (*in the physical real domain) just people who were stuck to one era of his creativity.

I suppose someday I'll find someone, or meet a mutual fan somewhere and bequeath it there to him/her. .....otherwise, it'll go to my nephews i hope.

I don't believe I've got much in terms of rarities...just multiple copies of stuff ls and some i suppose rare posters. Not the 78 one though. Eh. Sad to think about. ..I've really got to get some quality listening time in soon.

And 3000 years later, a new Howard Carter would break open the grave and be the first one to enter.
"Can you see anything?" he'll be asked.
"Yes," he'll say. "Wonderful things."
