Recently I've rediscovered this track from "The Truth" and
I've been listening to it a lot.

Now, something I hadn't noticed ever before is that 2 mins
into the song there is a dark voice in the background, it
sound kina like the deep TRC vox so it's probably Prince's
vox slowed down.

It's only there for about 2 seconds, at about [02:03] into
the song. I can't make out what it says.

Sounds like


"I have a discipline"

or, when slowed down and perhaps closer to it:

"I have been disappointed"



I've ripped the song from the cd and cut the 3 second piece
out of it and reversed it with coolEdit. Reversed it sounds
like he's saying something close to;


"Voice up in Heaven"

or, when slowed down and also perhaps closer to it

"We're all the same in heaven"



Fcuz these are probably both wrong, but I just can't make
out what the hell that voice is saying. It comes and goes
too fast.

Anyone?

And whilst we're on the subject, can I just say once again
[probably for the millionth time] that this is a fantastic
album. Geez, when you listen to this in comparison the the
rest of the post "Chaos & Disorder" and pre "TRC" output,
it just seems impossible for an album of this magnitude to
have been released in the middle of all that tosh.

Try using headphones. I always find music much more detailed with phones. For example, I didn't notice him saying "safe" on Joint to Joint until I tried this.

i never understand why some people always come out with, "you have way too much time on your hands," just because somebody is observant and most likely digests things on an artistically more advanced level than you do. which is, y'know, cool and all...everybody gets into their own thing in their own way.

i just think we should be excited to hear new stuff like this from an observant fan, instead of putting him down.

istenSzek, i fucking ADORE this album. i agree that it's somewhat shocking when you place this chronologically, b/c it is so strikingly different, more mature and musically exciting than anything else around that time.

and one of your tears is one of my favorite songs off that album. i'm somewhat amazed that i don't recall ever hearing anything like this, but of COURSE as soon as i get off work i'm gonna have to cue up that track.

your interpretation of what he might be saying (forwards or backwards) certainly fits the theme of this achingly sad, gorgeous song.

i STILL can't believe he went from this to newpowersoul...

thebumpsquad puts his headphones on, turns it up REAL loud, and listens VERY hard...

I think he's just repeating a line from the verse before.He sings,
"If I could disappear,
Cease 2 exist, cease 2 b here..."
"If u don't want me I'm not worth the air that I breathe,
I wish I could disappear"
Then after the chorus you hear him say (REAL LOW),
"I wanna disappear".

Well, that's what I hear anyhow!
