IT WAS ATTITUDE Prince made a fool of himself that night and I have seen films of Michael do the splits way back in 1969 and in the early early 70s. I think Mike just moved on from it. It's too bad he can't move on from the 80s. I'm way more into Prince, but I got the feeling that James wished he had never let Prince on stage. He didn't do anything except make a fool of himself. The one thing I can't find on Kazaa.com is his real first TV appearance On the midnight Special with Wolfman Jack. I have the 1980 American Bandstand appearence, the 1981 Saturday night live appearence and that foolishness with James brown. I even got the 1982 solid Gold performance of 1999 and the 1983 solid gold performance of little red corvettte, but no midnight special. I think over time I have come to appreciate this footage for what it is. Comedy. This is funny shit. From being carried to the stage to knocking over the lamp post, Prince was simply on fire that night...as far embarrassing himself, that is. Michael Jackson has been performing in front of audiences since the age of five. Even though they were the same age in years, Jackson was a more seasoned performer--especially in situations like that one. No sense in hatin' on the brother, he did his thing. Prince wasn't impressive (in a positive sense) that night, but I believe if this had happened just one year later, Prince would have really tore the stage up. He just didn't know what to do with himself, then.

What did Prince do with the guitar? Not a damn thing. What was that punk-ass shit riding on his bodygaurds shoulders, while sticking out his tongue? What was that stupid shit jumping up and down, while throwing up his hands up to the crowd? And it wasn't about attitude when he knocked over that streetlamp prop it was an accident a fuck up.
