. Wow, that is just terrible. It's good they are gong after these bad doctor's, but the illegal Fentanyl is still out there and is still being manufactured.

. That is just terrible. I'm glad you cousin is doing better. These doctor's can't be giving out pain pills like they are tic tacs. . My husband just went to the doctor for tennis elbow, and the doctor prescribed him something for the inflamation, and he didn't even want to take it. It wasn't percocet though.
What people don't understand is that doctors were assured these medications were safe and not to hesitate to use them. There was a big campaign going on in healthcare in the 80's and 90's about pain and treating it like the 5th vital sign - along with blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temp. There was a lot of emphasis put on evaluating pain and managing pain with the arrival of these aafe, effective drugs - specifically oxycontin. There are claims that the drug makers lied about and/or destroyed information that contradicted their claims about the safety and efficacy of the drug. Things spiraled out of conrrol from there. Claims of kickbacks for doctors, etc are unlikely as that soet of thing is strictly forbidden. None of the doctors i have ever worked for has received any sort of benefit from a drug co for using their product. Besides its not like the drug compan8es needed to "sell" their product to the providers who prescribed it. Those drugs sell themselves. They quickly became quite popular with patients who asked for them all the time. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

Prince wasn't careful about what he was putting into his body because he's dead. One would think that after the incident in the plane when he died the first time that he would have gotten rid of whatever it was that he was taking or that whomever gave him those pills would have gotten rid of them for him. It's sad that noone including Prince tried to prevent what happened. Yes, I know that there was an intervention being planned but it was over a week after the first time he died. Too little, too late, too sad.

I have a question, I know that Chaka Kahn came out after P died about An addiction to fentanyl. Does anyone know if hers was RX’ed or was hers illegal. That is pretty odd.

How can one sue comapnies when there is no specific case? 'Hey, we did not do anything wrong' each of them will say... But this is the land of the free, stuff might be different there. . What is Kirk's alibi? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Chaka Khan said nothing it was someone who worked for her. I seriously doubt the entrie stituation at this point. In addtion, we have no proof that he had any Fentenyl in his system prior to that night and none was found on the premises.

Fentanyl was found at PP, in the illegal pills.

Yes, the pills that were in Prince's body that the ME believes he took accidently because there is no evidence that Prince was a long term user and we have heard nothing about Chaka Khan's use of this stuff since despite the fact that she was well enough to come to the memorial concert.
No bottles of Fentanyl were found at PP. Even the media reports about Percocet from TMZ are weird since he did not have any of that in his system.
I guess he was a revolving pills head who changed up on a daily basis. Makes no sense along with loads of other nonsense

If you are in pain you take meds. You can be in pain or take the meds. Which would you do?

No, the pills that were found in the mislabled bottles were laced with fentanyl. No bottles of fentanyl only were found, I agree.

In addtion, we have no proof that he had any Fentenyl in his system prior to that night and none was found on the premises. The AP article below reveals that Chaka Khan released a statement in which she disclosed her (and her sister's) addiction and plan for recovery... In a statement released to The Associated Press Sunday (July 10), the 63-year-old Grammy-winning singer said she has been battling an addiction to the same medication that led to Prince's death. Her press release included the following statements: "Unfortunately, I will miss concert appearances over the summer,” she said. However, it’s vital that I put my health and well-being first. I know that I am disappointing some of my fans, but I also know they would want me to recover and be well and healthy.” "The tragic death of Prince has had us both rethinking and reevaluating our lives and priorities. We knew it was time to take action to save our lives. My sister and I would like to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers.” Sources: https://apnews.com/8c76a5...dab8838d83 - https://www.huffingtonpos...90f7e9cb81 Numerous articles found regarding Chaka's fentanyl addiction and plan for recovery: https://www.google.com/se...2IugDw_1:3 I would imagine if this was some unverified story, Chaka would have taken legal action to ensure there was a retraction made by and monetary penalty to the source that would make such an inflammatory and erroneous claim. As it stands, there has never been any uproarious statement by Chaka or her camp to discredit this info. I have always found this connection interesting. I do not doubt she has a problem with drugs but I doubt she was okay with throwing Prince name in it and we soon found out he was not found to be a long time user of Fentanyl. If they were drug buddies don't you think she would have known that.
Celebs have PR and management people who do press releases. I also would not trust the judgement of someone on drugs to draft or okay a press release and Chaka has become irate in the past when asked about drugs. Cannot see her changing up and talking about it now
Remember Issac Hayes had a stroke and his crazy Scientology manager put out a press release were he attacked " South Park" were as his family said he could not even speak because of the stroke.

Well I agree with NACName, that it is interesting. But I can see that history shows she has never been fond of speaking about Her drug use. It is weird how the article says “ the same drug that killed prince”. That Does seem a bit sensationalistic and a media tactic. But what the media gets away with in retelling is awful.

It is very sensationalistic for a press release I question if her people even mentioned his name and he was not found to be a long time user of it.

Back off Laura. I didn't say anything or was being judgemental about his issues with his pain and the use of pills. I simply stated that I cannot understand why, after he officially died on that airplane from ingesting those pills, that either he or someone in his inner circle didn't get rid of the pills that he took on the plane and replaced them with others. Obviously they all knew what had happened on the plane and yet steps weren't taken to prevent it from happening again? What's wrong with that picture? Of course I don't know as I wasn't there- maybe they did get rid of those pills and got another bottle of them and he ended up dying from the new pills anyway. I don't know. Neither do you.

Yes, you are right. Why live with pain, if you can take a pill? After trying everything they could for my husband to get him out of pain, the pain specialists told us, try this, it has turned out to be a wonder pill...oxycontin. It was a wonder pill...until it wasn't.... I told the Dr, we have 3 small children, I'm worried about him getting addicted and having to deal with that. The Dr. said, "There is a difference between addiction and using it for pain". Well hubby used it exactly as prescribed, I kept it locked up in a safe and only I had the key. Never once did he run short or 'lose' a prescription. And of course he became addicted. Withdrawel symptoms are the same whether or not you use it for pain or recreation. Big Pharma lied and created this addiction, that has swept across the nation.

We don’t hear enough stories like this and thus the general public thinks the problem is junkies who don’t have self control. I swear every time I see an article about the opioid epidemic on social media most of the comments are going after those affected either from those who don’t need medication and think others are willfully making poor choices or from those on medication (but not addicted) worried that their medication will be taken from them. This is wicked stuff and should be a lot harder for doctors to prescribe it. Paisley Park is in your heart
