It would say that it is about, like he said, the end of the world. More specifically making love during the apocolypse. Theres alot of other rambling topics running through that song as well but to me that is the main theme.
I would lean towards this (bolded) interpretation as well, especially since a sample of Clare Fisher's orchestration on Crystal Ball was re-used on 'The Future'...

Hi Yeah this....but great art is open for interpretation. If it informs you great...your perceptions are what matter. The line about "I don't know I have to ask my mommy first" speaks of collective conditioning...freedom to choose for self. Or ask others to give meaning from Prince. I ran to this track and man did I kick ass I was in some kind of prince enduced energy flow |
