What happened to Howard Stern's Prince CD?

I remember that Prince gave Howard Stern a CD of "All Along The Watchtower/Best of You"

What ever happened to it? I vaguely remember that Howard lost it somehow. Can someone point me to an interview or information where Howard was asked and answered about this music.

Tried to Google it, but to no avail.

It's a shame that Howard kept stopping and talked thru the song and only played a little bit of it.

He was discussing the performance while
On the air talking about what a Genius he is. Someone put the
Snipet from the show on a boot that I have. He spoke at length on the air about him after he passed. I'll see if I can find it.

I vaguely remember (I'll see if I can find it) that Prince's people were there and immediately took the CD back

It was the week before the Super Bowl performance I believe, and he played part of it on the air.

I remember getting all excited as there was obviously a studio version recorded.

Howard only played a portion of it on the air that morning.

Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away
and the reality that you believe in begins to bind.

Ok, I hadn't hear this before. I remember someone saying Howard lost it, didn't know where it went or something.

I would LOVE to have this track see the light of day sometime. I have the on-air Stern talk-over version somewhere, but it's not the same.

Just my speculation:

Prince recorded a live version, just in case something happened before the performance, i.e. a backup plan.

Then, his people brought a copy over to Howard to hype the SB show.

Howard wanted to keep this obvious one-of-a-kind recording so he "lost" it.

Who knows.

P recorded a demo for the Super Bowl/NFL execs.
That's been well documented in many reports.

Well many of you will probably argue with me about this but I think that except for vocals and guitars the rest of the instruments had been taped earlier... Which by the way I believe is the standard procedure during halftime shows - it's just not enough time to risk something, so everybody is doing so, with the most obvious example being Red Hot Chilli Peppers guesting with Bruno Mars. Oh and by the way the producers said that Prince had four guitars ready for half-time which makes me wonder why did he play on only three of them and was the fourth one the supposed orange cloud?

They had the rehearsal on tape to play on air instead of a live performance. Prince wanted to play live even in the rain. Besides there supposedly some mishaps by Prince at the pretaped rehearsal.(Which they always keep as back up for any live half time show.)
