Shy Is The Best Song On TGE Wow I just listened to this song, I never noticed before how awesome it is... It is GREAT!!! I think it would have worked on Purple Rain! Personally . In fact I am seeing the beauty of a lot of songs like Shhh and 319 that I didn't get into at first.. How come stuff like this aint on Emancipation? Personally . Some songs are alike: I Hate U and Saviour The Holy River and Gold The main reason Emancipation is NOT like TGE is because the NPG of 1994-1996 is not overtly featured on the album.  555-4444 you're on coffee talk. | |

i don't like it. or should i say, i don't like it on TGE. it's not a stellar song, IMO. i'm not a big fan of Prince singing narratives that don't congeal well as lyrics, and i feel like this is one of those. however, as decent as it may be in its own right, it just doesn't fit on that album. | |

It's definitely one of my favorites (I love the walking sound at the beginning of the song) but I wouldn't go so far as to call it The Best song on TGE. | |

"Shy" is far and away my favorite track on that album. In fact, it is IMO a bright spot on an otherwise lackluster project. The album was especially disappointing for me given that it immediately followed Come (IMO, arguably his best 90s album release). | |
