I finally got the link to work. Thank you again, Sharon, for taking your valuable time to answer our questions and a special thank you goes out to June7 for making this happen.

Very useful. Now we finally know what the next vault release will be, how many finished albums were ready to go and how many concert footage and unreleased tracks are in the vaults. We also know now if there were lots of tapes totally decayed and unusable. Definitely worth the wait. Thanks. How's that for positivity.... biggrin It's nice she wants to answer our questions. But the only real answers were to questions nobody cares about. This is not rude. Only the truth and everybody knows that. She never ever really had a strong relationship with our dear prince.

where does it say what next vault release will be?

Many thanks to Mrs. Nelson and June7 for this opportunity to communicate. I hope the connection can be maintained between the family and the community in the future. Lack of interactions with the community cost Prince a lot in terms of fans feedback. I'm not saying he was wrong, he had his reasons and I respect them, but other artists have gotten better relations with their online communities by being a little more open and communicative.

.

Regarding disrespectful comments, I think there should be a rule that while constructive criticism is welcome, any gross or insulting behavior towards a former Prince associate who comes here to interact with us will result in a ban. Period. Not for the sake of punishing the culprits but to encourage associates to come here more often.

.

Regarding the reply to Moonbeam's question, the poll was a great thing and I think those polls can be a good way to know what the bulk of the community wants. However, my understanding of the question was that some of the most knowledgeable fans should be considered for use as proper consultants on specific projects, even if it means doing it for free. I think it would be a good idea, because professional experts in curating recordings do not necessarily have the expert knowledge some of us have on Prince's work in particular (see PR Deluxe!). A priority should of course to involve former engineers and musicians, but the most hardcore fans/researchers can offer a unique perspective. The thing is that it's not just about what to release but how to arrange collections. With such an incredible amount of recordings, deciding what goes with what and how to compile collections or boxsets is going to be a years-long, terrifying headache for whomever will be involved.

They do have that rule. In fact the Mods do a pretty good job of keeping it under control.

All questions must be respectful and they ban you on the spot, if you step over that line.

I refused to participate in Cat's questions, because Cat was saying some pretty disrespectful things, that we weren't able to question her about, her very own statements. I don't pussy foot around, I don't like to kiss ass just to have some dancer come on here and answer nicey, nice questions.

Ah OK, I didn't know.

I didn't read the Cat Q&A yet. I'll have to. IDK what she said so I can't tell. But if you don't feel the person then yeah, you just needn't engage in the conversation I guess, you made the correct choice. It's not about kissing ass, it's about being respectful to people who have info we want to learn, and who take on their free time to come and answer our questions for free. They just don't have to. So when they do it's really cool.

After some of SNJ's comments in the most recent comments in the court docs. I struggle to understand why the welcome for these sibs.

I do not follow those legal procedures nor the death investigation with much scrutiny, those things do not concern me. So idk what was said by whom. In any case why is because, like it or not, those "sibs" will likely end up owning the tapes and deciding what to do with them. It's good if we can talk with them. At least it can't hurt.

You need to keep up and they are going to have share ownership of the music with the other sibs and right now they are pushed the judged so far I doubt anyone will take their input seriously.

To be honest I find all that legal stuff a bit depressing, and IDK those people so it's not my place to have an opinion on them, and their family problems are none of my business. I was interested in Prince's life, I'm not much interested in his family's life. But mostly there's nothing I can do about any of it. When things are settled and we know who is empowered to have a say on what gets released ans how, we'll see. Then might be the time to try and do some lobbying. Until then, I just live my life. I just hope I'll live long enough to see further releases, but if not I already have enough Prince music to keep me busy for the rest of my existence.

I am sure you are aware of many things and are still able to live your life. I am saying since you are not keeping up with the court docs ( which are public record ) be careful who you cheerlead for when you do not know their motives.

I don't cheerlead. I have no positive or negative opinion about Sharon Nelson. I don't know her. I say it's always better to talk. You don't wanna talk to someone, fine, you can do like PennyPurple and just ignore those people you dislike. I myself do not always take part in Q&A's because I may also simply not think of a question. But there's no need to go and be rude with people who choose to come and talk to us when they could choose not to.

I did not see anything rude and if someone asked her a question about her behavior she could just say no comment. Asking a question about things she has actually stated is not rude. The truth of the matter is she has no information because she had not attended any of the meetings with Comerica.

IDK what was said and resulted in censorship with Sharon, I just know I've read shocking things on that board in the past. If it's polite and not outrageously disrespectful (one can be polite yet demeaning), I say constructive criticism or questioning actions/statements is fine, of course.

I agree that someone should be brought on as a consultant to oversee the estate in general. I appreciate Tyka taking the time to answer the fans questions, but her answers weren't particularly enlightening and the O2 exhibition, which she hand a hand in developing, wasn't well researched either. I worry that by signing PP over the people who run Graceland, and that creating insight into Prince's world isn't the priority from the family. Graceland is notoriously tacky, which suits Elvis after all his Vegas years, but doesn't suit Prince.

Then the estate could just as well hire Eye Records to pick up random songs in the vault and compile them chaotically, they're pretty good at that nod

Thanks again to Sharon for answering the questions.

.

I'm really late with this, but here are some of my thoughts about/distillation of part III of Sharon's responses.

-She's indifferent to Mayte's memoir.

-She didn't attend Prince's weddings although she did meet both of his wives while he was married to each of them.

-Prince loved children

-His diaries will more than likely remain private.

-He probably used his swear jar money for Caribou Coffee runs. lol

-The siblings/Estate are considering Cirque de Soleil and a Broadway show. Licensing of his music for for TV shows is already occurring.

[No Offense Taken - Originally this was just the thread announcing the coming of the third part of these interviews. I hate multiple threads being stuck everywhere, so I figured I'd revise this thread into the discussion thread since it appeared that the other discussion threads had self locked due to aging out. So when I opened it up for discussion, I didn't think the title needed that much changing as everyone knew what the 'twelve, thirteen, seventeen' thing was about. I forgot that not everybody reads these threads right when they come out and, didn't figure on the confusion. So, now that I've got you even more confused with this explanation, I'll say my job here is done. Oh, and I fixed the title. - June7]
