i've always thought that 17 days and Blue Limousine were very similar songs.

A Million Miles (I Love You) reminds me of 17 Days a lot. I absolutely love Brenda's voice.

"No more will I accept your minimalistic mantra additude 2ward my womanhood.

In the Closer 2 God thread IstenSzek transcribed them as: . "No more will I accept your simplistic macho attitude toward my womanhood. and make you see this, as well as you see my vagina?" . which sounds about right to me, although to my ears it sounds as though Brenda says something like "limtistic macho attitude" in the first line??

Sounds like a Appolonia 6 album outtake?

Thanks for posting the words that I was asking about! . I guess these were omitted when the song was not used for Apollonia 6.

But this isn't on pristine quality, right?

dont start "Climb in my fur."

I'm genuinely asking. | |

I think it is:
"No more will I accept your majestic macho attitude toward my womanhood. and make you see this, as well as you see my vagina?"
These words seem to point out that she is tired of him only seeing her as simply a sex object and that she is equally beautiful as a person and should be seen as something more than just the owner of a vagina.
That is my take on it.

Nah, it's a myth. "Climb in my fur."

After reading the relevant bit in Duane Tudahl's book the 'full version' is kinda weird: It has Prince's vocal but Brenda's text towards the end. So was this the Prince guide version with some Brenda overdub/edit? Or was this a version that Prince did after Brenda was out of the focus? A dub of the Brenda version with his vocal? I remember this fan made but the one we're talking about now is a real exetended version: it's brilliant!!! The sound is perfect! I'm so glad as 17 Days is by far my best Prince's song ever (followed by Free). The rehearsal version from Miami is great too (as the ones sang in the PR tour). So happy but sad to know that many things came out as Prince passed away. "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

Brenda did sing lead on a different solo version on a previous date and that unreleased version was the first version. The one being discussed in here was recorded a few months later. Brenda was still a very important part of the song, but she sang more background and had the monologue as well on this track.
