I'm a dude, but 2004-2012. He was clean cut and dressed to the 9's and looked very healthy. Things changed suddenly in 2013.

The Rave era. His image and dress was very striking and distinctive.

personal fave was 1999/pr era, closely followed by Parade era but most of his looks were great. Rave not being one in my mind, his hairdresser said something about calling him buckwheat with the braids. After a certain point to be honest, his imagery didn't matter anymore to me.

I first fell in love with his 2006 “Fury” SNL look.

I liked the Diamonds and Pearls 'Typhoon' hair with the finger waves on the side of his head. He was sharp then! With the yellow outfits. [Edited 12/10/17 18:15pm]

The Dirty Mind Tour Peter Pan lok was cool, really his look in1981 was daring and contemporary.
Parade matador getup was cool too, in it's various colors. Lovesexy era fashion was a high point, actually better than the music of the time period imo.
So a tie between 1981 and 86-87 I'd say. 84 of course was so cool

i don't know how he found time for all that damned grooming, as a musician myself, i hate wasting time that i don't have to, i used to do more to my hair but it's so much simpler to chop the shit off. and dressing up is a hassle too, ties, dress shoes, jesus, the man was remarkable in so many ways. How many times did we see the man not looking like a million bucks?

'81-'82 (Controversy, 1999)
'04-'13 (Musicology - AOA) I even liked the baby 'fro look i.e. Rock n Roll Love Affair music video It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

I'd say the early 90s NPG slightly dirty style. Like in the Sacrifice of Victor / live at Bagleys video or the santana medley video with the top hat and symbol guitar. Proper rockstar cool.

He always looked cool. But my favorite looks of his are the emancipation era look. When he cut his hair short. He looked so cute on the Oprah show.Even when he appeared on Rosie o donnel show, she said he was looked very cute.I might be in the minority but I love his look in 2014 when he brought back the fro.He looked his most masculine to me.

physically he was in terrific shape then too, by the end of the PR tour he looked very muscular and that carried on to UTCM where he looked like a bodybuilder.

TweetyV6 said: Best look EVAH I love our young Prince in this suit. Also love the way he moved in it. Hands in pockets during songs while dancing and singing. He showed he could be e everything, including a conservative respectful young man.

I think Prince was his very sexiest and most beautiful in the last year of his life. As an overall package. 💜

The yellow Parade suit is my favorite - it's simple yet totally befitting Prince's charisma.
After that, I have to agree from 2004 to 2012 Prince looked great. He was older, but didn't seem older, his outfits were mature and elegant and he just seemed happy. Those Chicago 2012 shows in many ways seem like an end of an era for me.
He still looked great in early 2013; I dug the baby fro and wish he kept that length. He looked awesome at SXSW. By Montreux, he seemed to suddenly look older, though not necessarily frail or unhealthy.
I have to wonder if Prince progressively growing out his afro more and more was some sign of depression in retrospect - like he had given up on reinventing his appearance.

SOTT/Lovesexy era. Very androgynous, sensual, playful time. Loved the hairstyles, clothes, personality.

I just watched Under the Cherry Moon yesterday (for the first time in ages) and was just astounded at how beautiful he looked. I mean...I've seen a zillion pictures of him (obvi)...but I don't think he ever looked better. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
