"Lana drew a picture in school 2day...." "In A Large Room With No Light"
Haven't heard this one in a long time, so I put it on and it stopped me in my purple tracks! If only it had been released on Parade or on any album following that one - I simply love the percussiveness of this track; the grand orchestration & arrangement. Basically, this sounds like a BIG track, and would have been nice to hear in clear quality (un4tunately I have it as a, "shhh...a b-o-o-t-l-e-g!" ). Was it supposed to be on Parade? It's a very interesting track. Does anybody else here dig it? Sounds like it would have fit in perfectly with "Alexa de Paris" and others. A penny for your thoughts?

Hey Loosekiss! I don't quite know where you can find this track - I myself stumbled upon it quite by accident when a friend had once given me a cd of tracks downloaded from the net.
One of the tracks had the title "Large Room With No Light", and no artists name. Once I put the track on it hit me; though it did take a minute or two to confirm that indeed this was Prince and not someone who just SOUNDED like him. It's not good quality at all so I really have no idea where you can listen to it. That's why I wish it was released officially with superior sound and all!

Uh... Sorry, but that's the title the bootleggers came up with. The real title is "In a Large Room With No Light"

It was Eric Leeds' favourite Revolution track, no less...
And it's easy to see why: sensory overload of the good kind. A killer horn section, a Mardi Gras feel, spooky psychodelic lyrics which, combined with a strange sensuality (shouldn't work but it does!), contribute to the unusual, otherwordly carnival atmosphere of what ultimately is a very strange musical trip. Chaotic, but absolutely gorgeous. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."
