What Happened to those funky azz baselines? Listening to Nasty Girls, When Doves Cry, Erotic City, Get it Up--anything in that 1982-85 era--they still sound so funky...what happened to grooves? What happened to the funk, period. He shows flashes of it (particually at aftershows), but methinks dude has mellowed CONSIDERABLY. | |

not by a bass guitar, but there are patterns formed by the percussion that function as a bass line
