"Art Official Age" - the CD, my question is about "the Jewel Case" Cover version? "Art Official Age" what a wonderful album to own on CD!
- the AOA CD, my question is about "the Jewel Case"
I dislike the 1st Digipack paper cover,
Therefor I also did buy this AOA-Cd-album, in the more "regular" but could be rare, the Cd-plastic-Jewel-case. (My photobucket account, is not working, I can't post a pic sorry)
Questions:
1) Is this Jewel-case version genuine? Or fanmade / Unofficial,
(Ok, I ask because the print looks a little suspicious)
2) How rare is the Jewel Cd-Case version compared to the 1st paper Digi-Cover?
(I also own the CD "Musicology" in Jewel Case, I am happy... and, this may be rare, right?)

It shows the dedication from mr. Prince to his 'children'. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

how are they trash? you either take care of your stuff or you dont. would you prefer vinyl to come in a giant plastic case as well? |

Jewel cases one can replace.
Cardboard stuff one cannot besides buying again, if the album is still in print.
That is the key difference. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

Believe me, i'm OCD with my cd/vinyl collection, i take care of every record, but it's hard to take care of a piece of cardboard when you stock them with other 500 cds. |

As far as I'm aware, there has never been any concrete evidence to support that the AOA jewel case version is genuine.
I think you have a bootleg, albeit a fairly convincing one. |

It was released in digipak only. The jewel case is a bootleg from Russia. " don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r." |

Sadly, counterfeit CDs, DVDs etc from Russia are MASSIVELY flooding the world at great momentum!
It's absolutely criminal they have no respect for global intellectual property agreements.

Well I bought my AOA-Cd in Jewel Case -
It was via FaceBook.
I still have hopes it's legit - somehow, calling the experts for a reply, pretty please..?
(about my photobucket account, I believe it's not free anymore, I believe they want my money, and I am certainly not gonna pay them..) [Edited 12/7/17 21:06pm] Prince 4Ever. |

the CD itself (in the Jewel Case), this looks official, but it reads:
EDIT: MY eyes are doing a trick to me, it ends with "92" as well!!
But hard to read, so small and unclear printed.... I do fear its a Russian Edition!
"Manufactured in the EU GEMA/ BIEM LC00392" (very small numbers, printed at the edge of the cd)
^ My other copy in the Digipak Cd-cover reads:
"Manufactured in the EU GEMA/ BIEM LC00392" (a small difference, ends with 92)

what made me suspicious is the bad quality of the paper to the cover art.
Artwork, it looks like its "Home made", the paper is so "thin"...
^ on the cd- in Jewel case - edition.... [Edited 12/6/17 15:42pm] Prince 4Ever. |

thanks, but... damn, I guess you are right.
my copy in Jewel case, this was bought in Holland-
I can't recall if he, the seller, told me it was made in Russia.. and is Un-official..
I am sure I would not have spent my money on it, if I had known this.. [Edited 12/7/17 21:07pm] Prince 4Ever. |

I have just checked my FaceBook conversation, ---
But also - I, myself, - did not ask about it either, maybe because I was so sure it was official...
So I blame him, but also, I blame myself, as well. Damn...... I feel disappointed somehow....
Back in October 2015 I paid $60.00 for this incl. shipping from Holland..

Edit:
Checked the CD in my car and I was wrong.
My copy of AOA is not a jewel case.

Hi, please,
this thread is about discussing this release in Jewel Case.. (so the thread won't be deleted on my behalf).
This thread is staying here, and it's not about "blame", it's not about the seller who sold me this, I have therefor made some edits, deleting some of my earlier comments....
Its christmas time, I am not interested in a feud, seller has offered me a full refund if I am returning the cd.
Very nice. Thanks. Maybe I will return it, and maybe I won't return it... I don't know this, yet.
Peace....................... [Edited 12/7/17 21:33pm] Prince 4Ever. |
