I'm from the UK and don't really know so much about the NFL and it's teams, but is it just a nice coincidence that the Vikings wear purple or is wearing that colour a deliberate nod to MN's most famous son? | |

I am a long time Buffalo Bills fan, But my loyalty is sorely tested every time I hear the Vikings play Let's Go Crazy after a TD. I hope that Case Keenum and the boys can pull off some more incredible plays and win the Lombardi Trophy for Prince (actually, I will be happy if any can stop the damn Pats winning the title again). It might as well be the boys in purple and gold). It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

I LOVE IT!!! . I am a die-hard Seahawks fan, but for a number of years, the Vikings were my second favourite NFL team, due to Adrian Peterson being my favorite player and having family strong family ties to Minnesota. I LOVED the 2009-10 Vikings, they were so fun to watch! . However, I have lived in Philly since August 2010 and my husband is a native Philadelphian and die-hard Eagles fan. So of course I root for the Eagles. I'm not sure for whome I will root, the Vikings or Eagles...probably the Eagles, but the great thing is I will be happy whomever wins. I think that the Super Bowl being in Minnesota is what makes me feel so conflicted about rooting for the Vikings or Eagles because I think it would be so cool for the Vikings to play for the Super Bowl in Minnesota. And of course, there will be some publicity for Prince during the Super Bowl week, which is awesome.

Purple and gold are the colors of Minnesota and of the Minnesota Vikings. Not sure how familiar you are with the NBA but my favorite team, the L.A Lakers, also wear purple and gold just like the Minnesota Vikings, and that´s because they used to be a Minneapolis team called the Minneapolis Lakers. But then they moved to L.A and changed their name to L.A Lakers and they kept their original colors. Which is a bit funny because Minnesota is the land of lakes (10.000 . Other teams that also moved to other cities also kept their colors and names but changed the city. For example the Oakland Raiders===>L.A Raiders. etc. etc.

. I'm not much of a NFL fan myself, but I'm happy the Viking's won! . Prince was an avid Warriors and Timberwolves fan.

Being from MN i come from a long line of hardcore Vikings fans. SKOL! I'm not gonna lie. Its been a great week in MN. I want to believe this is our year, but the last time i said that the Saints put a bounty on our QB's head. Beating them last week the way we did was pure joy. We have a great team. I hope they can bring it home. It won't be easy. But they can do it. The twin cities are bathed in purple. Prince loved the Vikings and the team has been very respectful of him and his legacy. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN | |

The optimist in me says Atlanta almost beat Philly st home so we have a real shot. The pessimist in me remembers 1998 and 2009.
