Favorite/Best Tour? Out of all his tours which would you pick as his best ?
I honestly would have to pick Controversy, LoveSexy, Jam of the Year, Musicology/21 Nights and Piano & Microphone. Look wise I would have to pick Controversy and 1999. Band wise is a mix between The Revolution, LoveSexy 88 or The Musicology NPG.

I am not the biggest fan of the Lovesexy or Nude concerts. Too choreagraphed.
I have to go with the Parade shows...

LOVESEXY hands down for me.
maybe SOTT if he didn't screw us royally and deny us the chance to see it live (STILL BITTER AFTER ALL THESE YEARS).

I would pick the Parade tour and the P&M tour based on recordings. Parade had so many great songs and P & M because he performed such a wide array of songs besides his hits in such an intimate way.I loved the two concerts I saw from the PR and Musicology tours, but there was a bit too much melodrama in the PR concert and the Musicology tour relied too much on hits to be his very best IMO.

The best, in terms of showcasing Prince's all around skills as a singer, musician and performer, would be either Piano & A Microphone or One Nite Alone.
As a pure performer, Lovesexy was the height of Prince's energy and showmanship, combined with a thematic structure and focus that set it apart from being just another concert.
I find myself drawn most often, on a pure listening experience, to the W2A shows though, just because I listen to a lot of my music when I work out and those shows have a very consistent high energy level.
Controversy, 1999, Parade, Musicology and Live Out Loud are all great tours as well. Honestly, the only tour I can't really find anything enjoyable about is that bizarre 1999-01 HitnRun period, where he just blew through everything with no investment or sense of pacing, structure, etc.

Musicology It was great to see him happy and having fun again. Acoustic guitar sets were a nice addition. Ripping guitars solos, solid funk, great band. . Lovesexy Inspirational, creative, interwoven story without knocking you over head, great music

IDK but save for the Nude Tour and Act II, because they were the first of that kind, I have little interest for all those "best of" tours that happened after 1996. Hearing live renditions of hits that I know by heart for the 1000th time is somewhat frustrating for me. That's why his European Tour of 2011 was so great: he played a lot of songs that he usually didn't: Girl, Calhoun Square, Gold etc etc...

I'd have to go with the 21 Nights in London. Not for the main shows, which were great, but for all those lovely aftershows. A fantastic summer. RIP

For me it is the Lovesexy-Tour by far (Prince at his best) followed by the ONA tour ( his best band effort in my opinion).

Jam of the Year holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Prince/O(+>concerts I attended. I also really love the One Night Alone tour as it was less hits intensive. Sadly, I think the Vegas DVD is a poor representation of that tour. I dislike 1992-1994 tours, something about his hairstyle distances me from these eras.

Agree, LoveSexy was his most creative style and performance wise

Yeah I understand. I loved his look during the Nude Tour (Graffiti Bridge.) and I have never been able to see ACT 2 but I love the era as it was during the Come look.
