No, I really think if he wanted one he would have had this done while he was alive. I recall that money was raised once by some fans and still turned it down. So I really think he did not want one.
I believe the University of Minnesota is awarding him a honorary degree which he knew about before he passed he accepted with a request that a scholarship be set up for a music student from his old neighborhood.

Class Act. He certainly was a class act. Interesting about him turning down fan's offer if that's true. But HERE is, I believe the final word: You know how Prince communicates with me and all. Through various means. Well I didn't get a chance to say this because I've had appointments today but right after I posted my last post here this morning, I put down my phone for a few minutes, and went I picked it back up to log back onto Prince.org, you know the sayings at the top of the page each time we log in or switch to a different forum etc.? Well this is what mine said, and I've never gotten this one before: "WHY SETTLE FOR A STAR, WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THE SUN?" I KID YOU NOT. This was Prince's way of telling me he doesn't want a Star on the Hollywood Walk, and it is my duty to pass this information on no matter what I feel or think. In fact, I agree, with some more thought on the matter. 🙂💜

True! Many don't know the person has to pay for theirs. I believe there is is a guy that does go around cleaning (removing gum etc) and then polishing the Brass Star monthly. He does a big loop if I remember the article correctly, and, I thought he worked for the city. Although I'm sure there are some that 'Pay' Extra $$$ to have theirs cleaned and maintained more regularly. Gum on Zsa Zsa's Star....As If...

But... the sun... is..a star... Just a much bigger one. In that song he's just talking about smaller stars in comparison to him.

Does anyone have more than 1? He would need one for his music and one for his movies. What?

If that's allowed, I don't know why anybody would do it. Only one is necessary. Besides, Prince is remembered far more for his bountiful catalog of music than for the few movies he was in.

I think he was happy enough with his star on First Ave which is more iconic and meaningful. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

If these stars are placed in the order in which they are received, he was waiting for a better block. Prolly. What?

. If you care so much about such things, how about paying attention? https://www.loc.gov/progr...ears/2011/ matters a fuckload more than some stupid star that you can buy. © Bart Van Hemelen

Would some people look at having a star “tacky” if he had done it in, say, 1991? Some fans kill me with their explanations, as if they really spoke for the man and his true feelings about the matter.

Ya know what does speak for Prince: Pasiley Park. May not like it but when it's April celebration and his birthday; they could turn the purple light on in the pyramid. It can signify that his energy is preset in the music! That's so much more than a star. The music is on Prince is home for a minute in spirit. I like it.

Better for him to live on through his art than a star on a smelly sidewalk littered with trash, weed, junkies, and tourists (the REAL Hollywood Blvd.)
