Prince did not drink unreasonably or do drugs. As far as I can tell, no one from his inner circles has come-up with any new information contradicting this ever since he's passed, on the contrary. The Blue Tuesday xtc experience is the only known exception, and it's been reported for a good 2 decades. Even when it comes to alcohol, the only known (to me) reference of him being (slightly) drunk is the 1985 Flesh session where he and Sheila killed a bottle of wine. The painkiller addiction and abuse is another matter entirely: it was no recreative drug use. Same with the alleged 1996 incident. —-Outside of the “E” trip which he did not keep a secret not one shread of evidence has come out that he was a pill popping, coke snorting, or drunkard rockstar. Yet it is okay to say it anyway but to imply he had anything else going on with his health is blasphemy. [Edited 11/29/17 4:16am]

Actually it's become yet another "lie-repeated-so-often-it's-become-true" (thanks to pro "Prince-planned-the-whole-TBA-thing-as-a-marketing-ploy" conspirationnists) that Prince didn't keep the xtc thing a secret but it was in fact a well kept secret for 12 years. The whole story, AFAIK, first surfaced in 1999 in Per Nilsen's book DMSR. In the Uptown article devoted to TBA's release in 1994, there is no mention of it yet, only the "official" version of Blue Tuesday, i.e. Prince having a vision of God and aspiritual revelation after chatting with Ingrid. The "ecstasy" word on the Alphabet St. video was, of course, a veiled admission, but given the other possible meaning of the word, there was no way for anyone to understand what it meant. . Unfortunately, I repeatedly find TBA conspirationnists on the Org claiming that the whole Blue Tuesday event, ecstasy included, is Prince's "official" version of those events. AFAIK, Prince never admitted taking ecstasy, even after Nilsen uncovered the facts (not that any journalist dared ask him anyway ). .

there are a few songs/videos with non-negative drug references... especially in the mid-90s. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I do not mean admitted to the public. People who worked for him said he told them about it and according to Susan Rogers she knew that he had taken. Prince did not have to be in the view of her high if he did not want her to know.

I never said it was meant to taken literally but he does take hit off of something in the video. and in an interview (the one where Myte answers) he is asked about drugs and the answer was something like "we are interested in all experiences" "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

It's most definitely a metaphor for extasy. He describes it dead on in the song. And if any of you have ever done it superfunkycalifragisexy is a pretty on point description of how it feels. Lol. That's the truth.

I've done xtc several times and though I loved it each and every time (actually I hope I ever get to do it again, it's been years!), my experience had nothing to do with those lyrics, so no. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

There was also "Azifekare' as the 'jobless pothead' on Style. On both tracks though you get the impression he's just messing round. Like in the Race video he pretends to light and smoke a big flower

So we're calling it "the incident" now? You know this is how the Marvel/Netflix characters refer to the Battle of NY (in The Avengers), don't you? . More seriously yeah, we have people stuck in a time loop ("the song is about the events that lead to the song not being released") out of ignorance, or just because it goes in the sense of their conspiracy theories. Nonsense. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Yeah, brilliant. You can also think the Earth is flat and aliens control the White House. Awesome. Come back with flat facts and evidence and we can have a conversation about it all. Thank you. Have a nice day. Goodbye. PS: New young fans, don't listen to that BS. Read the books. Document yourself. make your own opinion based on facts. wow! I have to say wow! you know prince was into so weird marketing things... if he was so opposed to the album why do 2 of the 'worst' songs on in concert... then say "don't buy it"? "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Oh yes there is. We're talking about the history of one of the most significant musical artists of the late 20th century, aren't we? I ain't "barting" on you. I'm calling BS when I see BS. This is important. This is important because you're "donaldtrumping" us, i.e. turning personal theory and inferences into "alternate facts". Your inferences have been contradicted by each and every testimony from each and every person involved or associated with those events. Come-up with a new testimony, come up with a written document by Prince, come up with anything factual that supports your theory beyond your personal feelings and convenient inferences, I'll be the first one to acknowledge that you have made a discovery and that we have solid elements to support a new theory about what happened. Up until that, stop messing up with the kids' mind with your BS. Sorry for the tone, I don't mean no disrespect, but I can't possibly condone this "my opinion is worth as much as established facts" approach. You people are destroying civilization, no less, and I weight my words.

^ And just to debunk you sole and only argument: "if he was so opposed to the album why do 2 of the 'worst' songs on in concert... then say "don't buy it"?" Well, how about because the whole Lovesy Tour concept was about evil vs. good; The Black Album and Dirty Mind vs. Lovesexy; you know, as in "part 1" then Anna Stesia then "part 2". Oh, wow! Did I just explain the Lovesexy Tour concept for the first time ever? Well, no, it was stated in the tour program... "There was a boy named Camille"... Conspirationist BS...
