According to the article, "The teal blue Cloud guitar was donated by Prince to an auction in 1994 to benefit Los Angeles earthquake relief, the auction house said in its listing."

I hope they don't have to auction off anything from PP at any time to keep it open. This has been a concern of mine, which is why I try to support the estate. music

It would be great if the estate could buy back the items Prince gave away in his lifetime.

Clearly, Prince knew the importance of giving. Indeed, with the passage of time, we are learning more and more of his consistently generous donations, both monetary and in-kind.

Prince himself donated this guitar to a charity auction, so there's really no argument that it should go back to the estate.

Cant figure out which cloud this is. It looks darker than the blue angel used during Lovesexy tour and lighter than the dark blue cloud from the Symbol era. Anyone have insight on this guitar's history?

Beautiful colour, and I don't know if it's the quality of the pic or what, but is that a really bad paint job?

I don't get the placement of the volume and tone knobs compared to Rusan's original guitars and Beach's Blue Angel, black, yellow and electric blue guitars... The jack input is off too...

And those aren't Fender Jazz bass knobs like on all clouds (except for the second yellow, electric blue, purple and orange cloud with the gold knobs...)
This seems like some one off prototype thing that was never used (like the 1999-2000 purple one that he also gave away) donated and then horribly stored judging by the horrendous quality of the thing... My skin crawls just looking at the damage on and discolouring of the pickups...

Neversin.

Wow, so this was one those electric blue ones with a lot of dust/dirt on it. Or was it one of his Blue Angels with dirt accents? That thing looks disgusting lol
I've never seen one with those tone and volume knobs though and the jack isn't centered like the other clouds.
