Typhoon hairstyle questions 1st could someone in the know explain how a typhoon is even done? I've looked online to no avail. What my mortal brain can put together the sides are done in finger waves. But it almost seems like the rest of the sides are some kind of next to the skin perm. The top looks like a perm but in the 7 video (my favorite version of the typhoon)it seems like there are spikes? Lastly the hairline I can see heavy use of baby hairs. Even swooped down to the finger waves.
Lastly. I noticed that as soon as the American leg of the Act tour came around he dumped the typhoon & I'm curious why. Like was it too difficult to keep doing. I realize he had that hairstyle technically 2 years but the last version was so freaking cool it would have been nice to see more [Edited 11/12/17 7:20am] Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.

I did a female version of the typhoon when I was in a Paul Mitchell show. I didn't do the fingerwaves but kept the sides different and the top curled and high. I told the host it was a Typhoon but not where I got the inspiration. It's a little tricky, but doable. It's curled on top, and finger waves on the side, and some finessing otherwise. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

We need Prince's hairstylists to do a how-to book on the different hair eras. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
