R U Xperienced?

I xperienced Prince at the age of 10 in France in 1983. I remember…
I remember being hypnotized by "Let's pretend we're married" and "Delirious" on the radio… That electronic sound!
1984, I desesperatly try to make my own remake of "Erotic city" on my tape recorder with the worst voice any human could possibly produce on earth. Almost 54 takes… and Sheila E's "Belle Of St Mark" is on airplay.
My very first Prince album: "Around The World In a Day" LP. I caress the nice sleevecover and read the lyrics a hundred times… My fav songs are "Paisley Park", "America" and "Temptation" (that scaring end with the god's voice talking : "Oh! Silly man – we don't: now die!)"…
"When Doves Cry" is played a dozen times on the new born channel Canal +. Vanity and Apolonia are too hype.
I take my mum right to the big record store at the Champs Elysées and WITH NO SHAME I force her to buy me the 2 very first infamous LP of Prince. My pocket money is spent with DIRTY MIND (SO great sleevecover – what a cheap background for a fantastic effect!) and CONTROVERSY (look at the eyes!).
Imagine a young kid giving his pocket money to pay a record like Dirty Mind (look at the front and back whore's cover!).
I am a little disapointed by the dirty mind content as I expected a more electronic music. Controversy is the best.
"1999" and "parade" burn my turntable and get my neighbors on the nerves!
1986 and 1987 are great Princey years. So weird: B-sides and extended versions are more exiting than the albums.

I stop buying Prince's records in 1993.
I hear the Symbol album in London and love it (like anybody at that time – "Sexy MF" and "My Name is Prince" are big hits in the UK). Actually, I am into TECHNO and rave parties. I take NO pills because Prince is my only drug.
I go back to the Champs Elysées and then I listen to "Gold" – I don't pay much attention to it. "The Most Beautifull Girls" is #1, ok: good news for Paisley Park.
Things are changing. Techno music is business and Prince is underground back again. Techno is dead.
I buy second-hand purple albums: Mazzarati, Sheila E, Morris DAy… "Dance Electric" is far better than any techno freaky track!
I buy the 90's material and feel ashamed to have paid no atention to all this Funkin'and Rockin' good music.
1996, EMANCIPATION. I fall in love again. 1+1+1=3 discs of gold!
1998, Prince is back on the Internet. Great NPG productions. He's definitly THE ONE.
Napster is my PURPLE PUMP! I discover tones of bootlegs.
2003: after a very rich 2002 year, fans are waiting 4 more and more. Should I be a fan or not?
I feel so COOL.
The man is whatever he wants to be, and that's too cool. Moreover: he initiated me to other artists (Curtis Mayfield, Zapp, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchel, Led Zeplin …).

NOW that I am a big man, what "new direction" will I take?
Surpise… something BIG is coming!
