"Erotic City" is just an awesome song. However, I have to have the live version; the recorded song doesn't have the edge or infectiousness of the performed iteration. rdhull said:
I didnt say that it wasn't good. Heaven forbid yall find out Let's Go Crazy was influenced by Freeze Frame.

And he cwas so great at that, i mean keepin it simple and minimalist. And that's exactly why his music went downhill in the 90s because that's when he started to overload it with samples and sound effects...

Although i enjoy the extended version, it goes for a little too long with no substantial changes therefore i prefer the edited version, the one that last for 4 minutes or so.

And as for Erotic City, it takes Bernie Worrell's synth bass, puts some Princely guitar on it and we have the hottest duo in rock & roll and you can never quite figure out if they're singing "funk" or "fuck" while at the same time you know damn well they're singing the latter (at least Prince did)... It's just one of the sexiest records ever...

I guess, but in the 80's he used to go for too long with some songs.

^Yeah, that's how I feel about the album version of A Love Bizarre. It just goes on way too long... Even though I love the song. But... Some people just can't get enuff of that funky stuff!
