When 2 R In Love Does this song "belong" to 'Lovesexy' or 'the Black Album'?
Obviously the song was intended to grace Black, but when I listen to it in the context of the rest of the album, I can't help but feel that it works better on Lovesexy. I was just listening to 'Scandalous Sex Suite', and after it was over, I kept expecting I Wish U Heaven to follow it up. Maybe it's just because I heard 'Lovesexy' first, but, IMO, When 2 R in Love belongs to Lovesexy. I think it fits in perfectly on the second side of the album. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

When 2 R In Love belongs on the Black Album for its explicitness, not the music imo. "Climb in my fur."

IMHO, it's my least favorite song on Lovesexy (tho it has creative lyrics) and doesn't seem to fit. But, on The Black Album, it seems even more out of place in the middle of all that funk.

I don't know, I really like it on both albums, on Black it
is the only real slow restingplace in that all out funk lp and it stands out as kind of very beautiful. On Lovesexy it seems more naughty than on the Black album but it still fits in very well, especially leading into I Wish U Heaven. Those last 20 odd seconds of When 2 R In Love are one of my fav Prince moments on record, ever. The way the music swells and expands, like a bubble rising out of the water is so fine. Makes me wonder what a 12 Inch might have sounded like. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I don't like the way the opening snare hits are reverse-phased and segued on Lovesexy. Ruins it sonically for me.
