Dream Factory Tracklist Does anyone know what the Dream Factory's tracklist was supposed to include? It was supposed to be a double album, right?

My guess would be this... if you listen to the original Dream Factory (bootleg) then you'll notice a dialogue between Lisa and Wendy and a security guard at a nightclub (Prince). In the background is a song playing backwards. That song is, you guessed it "A Place In Heaven (Lisa's Vocals)". I'm not sure if the 'forward' spelled version was meant to be the Price vocal version or the Lisa vocal version, though. The question that I have is on the song "Visions". What song is that? BTW, i'm not sure the security guard is Prince, infact i'm 100% positive on that.

final tracklisting for Dream Factory...
side one: 1. Visions 2. Dream Factory 3. Train 4. The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker 5. It side two: 1. Strange Relationship 2. Starfish & Coffee 3. Slow Love 4. I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man side three: 1. Sign O' The Times 2. A Place In Heaven 3. Crystal Ball side four: 1. The Cross 2. Last Heart 3. Witness 4 The Prosecution 4. Movie Star 5. All My Dreams There are also 2 interludes, one before Dream Factory (often called 'Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A') which uses various samples and some dialogue by Wendy & Lisa plus part of A Place In Heaven played backwards. And another one before Slow Love (sometimes refered to as 'Wendys Guitar'). These would be unlikely to have been credited on the album as tracks in their own right (the ones on ATWIAD weren't). The reason they're often included in tracklistings is because they're listed on the mastertape. On an earlier version of Dream Factory the 'Neveah Ni Ecalp A' segue was used before 'Sexual Suicide', and the 'Wendys Guitar' segue was used before 'In A Large Room With No Light', and there was another segue of the band tuning up and improvising before 'Power Fantastic'. The tracklisting for this earlier version is... side one: 1. Visions 2. Dream Factory 3. It's A Wonderful Day 4. The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker 5. It side two: 1. Strange Relationship 2. Teacher Teacher 3. Starfish & Coffee 4. In A Large Room With No Light 5. Sexual Suicide side three: 1. Crystal Ball 2. Power Fantastic side four: 1. Last Heart 2. Witness 4 The Prosecution 3. Movie Star 4. A Place In Heaven 5. All My Dreams . [This message was edited Mon Apr 14 15:29:07 PDT 2003 by BorisFishpaw]

No they weren't. They were from just before the Dream Factory sessions. (but then so were some of the tracks that DID make it onto Dream Factory)

There's really no right or wrong with this. Just two different configurations - the 'early' one is from June 1986 and the other one is from July 1986. All albums go through many sequences before the final configuration is decided.
