I definitely agree that the version from the movie is beautiful, but it's just not as soulful as the New Morning Paris version. Of course, that is the frustration and joy with Prince. His ability to inject new passions and possibilities into each of his songs can make each performance of a song its own new version. Damn u, Prince, damn u...

To be fair Wednesday was a big disappointment- not only it wasn’t that good, also it had been out for a long time!

I only had the prince live snippet too, and like most people didn’t realise It was actually Wednesday. It’s ok, but it’s nit the best song, really...

Not probably "Holy Grail" level--but I certainly agree that an instrumental version would be nice.

The original live recording of The War.

We must also remember that what we have from the Flesh sessions is not the whole sessions, but edits made by Eric Leeds from those. I don't know how interesting whatever else was recorded is, but I'd certainly like to hear it.

Unfortunately, I do not believe any of the above is in circulation among even elite traders, so I may have to wait for the estate to release those, if they ever do.
