Cosmic Day

I'd like to hear "Stimulation" and "Am I Without U?" from the abandoned Rave lineup. A good clean copy of "The Voice Inside" and "Wouldnt You Love To Love Me #3" as well.

However, after hearing Coco Boys, Love And Sex and Emotional Pump....I'm good for a while. Those songs got me TOGETHER.

music headbang

I wonder though at times what the Sheila E 3rd album version sounds like

Are you speaking about Sheila's "Love And Sex"?

It's a completely different song from Prince's solo version. Its a cute little pop song. Mid-tempo. Has a full band. I give it a 6 out of 10. The end kinda trails off from the original idea.

Per Nilsen was right saying it sound kind of like this tune:

Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I would love this 2! I am not the biggest fan of Rosie's part on this...it would be great to hear him alone (maybe just on the piano....)

No 17 Days extended? Or are people still of the opinion that it doesn't exist?

Love this song to pieces, so yes this 1 2 (if it's possible). music

I really really really hope this comes out! I love this song so much (I remember getting the 7 inch single of WDC....which I was already blown away by, and then turning it over, and Oh MY GOD...it was incredible!!! 2 of the most incredible songs ever on the same single!!! eek eek Reminds me of The Beatles when they did the "double A" single of Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane...

I hope they at least put something a little funky on the door the tapes are behind out there in California. I hate to imagine it just being a plain (but extremely secure and well designed for the health of the recordings) storage chamber.

As to what I'm hoping for... well, Prince said "The Divine" was good, so let's hear it. And then some of the stuff Michael B. Nelson talked about in that Rolling Stone article--the "Shades of Umber" studio track, "Pangaea," whatever else was in those sessions the last few years. MrMoops made those tracks sound pretty interesting in the interview, and once they're released (if they are) maybe he can give us more track-by-track details.

I wouldn't complain about anything that might come our way, though. I'll take any of it, happily.

But since that's likely to happen at some point its hardly a grail now is it? Wally version 1 is a better Holy Grail.

I don't see any other tracks than the full version of "Cosmic Day" that would have been really lusted after mentioned above.

Prince vocal versions of some of the Sheila E, The Time and The Family tracks might be the most desired tracks by the fan community, I think. Personally, I'd want the outtakes from the 90s, so that I could put together the early versions of the albums for myself.

I didn't really like that Prince/Rosie version

and when it was sung by people in that big way

I never really cared for it, the more subtle sublime version on the Family album or the 'PR era' version are the best

Hadn't heard about that but just read up on it. Sounds intriguing.

I've always wanted the NPG version of Love Thy Will Be Done but with Prince vocals. Love that arrangement of the song.

This is not "Holy Grail," but I love the live version of "An Honest Man" from the 1986 show at New Morning in Paris. Yet, the sound of that show is so crappy. I would love to have that entire show as a quality release or just a quality release of that version of "An Honest Man." The one from Crystal Ball is just so disappointing, and I wonder if an actually performed version of "An Honest Man" was recorded.

someone ripped it from the movie and put it on a boot. Aside from some very minor incidental background noise from the movie, it's complete and beautiful and listenable.

Besides, why is it likely to happen? I have yet to see anyone say they have it or have heard it, if Warners had it they would have just released it on the Purple Rain reissue. I have no idea why anyone is all that hot for 17 Days Extended, but clearly a lot of people are--I'm sure it won't be that great even if we do hear it, but that doesn't affect anyone else's intense desire forit. And since Wally #1 is GONE (unless the story is somehow false, in which case... why would anyone care, since the whole desire to hear it is based on the idea that it was unbelievably fantastic and then destroyed?), then it is not a holy grail candidate at all. There has to be the possibilty that one might attain the grail, or you've got no grail quest.
