Of course Prince's giant ego cast himself in the role of a reincarnate religious iconoclast and king of an empire. He couldn't just be a butcher's boy from India in 732 AD or something!

He also told Vanity that they had had a past life in Egypt. Egypt was one of the themes in his life, however, once the marriage with Mayte was over and he started to study religion with Larry he no longer believed in his Akhenaten and Nefertiti tale but kept talking about how misguided they were.

I've just been to the Berlin museum last month which has the famous Nefertiti bust on display, and also this one of Akhenaten and it made me think of Prince. However, his passion for eras and people from history always seemed rather superficial and temporary. As far as I know he told Manuela he was King Solomon and she the Queen of Sheba...

Funny how only famous historical figures get reincarnated. No one ever said "I used to be Linda from the accounts departmemt"!

I agree and that's what always say when people make such claims. Strangely enough, they were always Cleopatra, Napoleon, or Marie Antoinette. Those seem to be the classics. To me, this rather shows a limited horizon when it comes to history than anything about past lives.

I have also heard from people on this forum that Prince's family tree goes back to Marc Antony. And I ask how do they know this? In my view all this is nothing but romanticizing (is that a word, Larry..?) people and times that were most often nothing glorious at all.

Absolutely. He seemed to be like that for a lot of things - he seemed to easily lose interest in projects and move on to the next thing.

It's very hard to see what is written. I can vaguely read 'Nefertiti' and 'Anhkaten' but the rest is totally illegible to me (or perhaps I just need new glasses! ).

Thanks, I had a look at the original links posted by theDance and at 2. I can see another word ('Love') followed by '...' between 'rule' and 'Prince' so the message now reads: "2. Come back... (not sure it actually says 'my son') and rule... Love, Prince & the Revolution"
