Love it! It's genius, as is Bowie's "Time".

Me too. There's a brief clip on Prince's twitter of Mono Neon playing a bit of it.

It is perhaps my favorite from the album. The chemistry between Prince and Andy was off the chart.

Outstanding track. In the top 3 on the album and one of the best of his last few years. The bass awesome. I like the music overall. It's got a nice laid back beat that's rolls along in a cool way. I also like the lyrics (for the most part) and Prince's distorted vocals. My only complaint is Andy's first verse. Her voice is a little too thin and the lyrics are a little lame. I either skip past that section or more often just imagine that it's better.

My favourite from the album and recent years. Love Andy's voice, that bass, the synth/horns near the end...nearly 7 mins of pure ear candy

I dig it lots. Certainly one of my favourite songs from the album. A case of a good song not always needing particularly inspired lyrics.

A line such as 'Im sick and tired of playing hard to get with an animal that's half my age' would sound creepy coming from most men in their mid 50's... maybe it sounds creepy coming from Prince and I just ignore it because it's Prince, who knows?

But I love the groove of the song. biggrin

It doesn't sound creepy from Prince at all to me.

i never thought much about it but now that you mention it, that's an interesting choice of words. animal meaning wild? untameable?

Choose your own adjective... lol It's Prince! wink A little of his old wild self sneaked out occasionally in more recent years...

I never understood why everybody here loves this tune so much. If it wasn't for the slap bass it would've been a total zzz I suppose I would have liked it better if the entire album hadn't been so full of slow jams. The only funky tracks on AOA are the title track, Gold Standard and FunkNRoll. Hold on. 3 funky tracks on a double LP? That's never going to be a great Prince album. Even if it has Breakdown and Way Back Home on it.

Its the spacey production on it I like the most. I think if it wasnt weighed down by slow jams this track would probably stick out more because This Is What It Feels Like and This Could Be Us followed by the affirmations is quite a track to get through.

You didnt like "U Know"? I agree could have used one more funk on it. Wasnt a big fan of This Could Be Us at all. Could have saved that original for Phase 1

I absolutely love this album. He was better than ever. On HnR Ph 2, too. His vocals are just so beautiful.
Lately I've been having a deeper appreciation for his love of music. This guy was all about music. It really shows on this album as well as HnR Ph 2.

I never understood how people liked Phase One more than Phase 2 wheich was more obviously heart felt and real Prince. As well, the last sexy slow jam he has put out "Revelation" is on it, one of his last guitar stompers "Screwdriver" and last funk jam "Stare" all on one album. On top of that great songs like "Groovy Potential" and "When She Comes" stand out of this great collection. Don't understand why fans looked it over.
