According to CNN in February 2016:

Get into the skin of this almost 60-year-old man. It is as supple as if he is using a moisturizer made of unicorn tears and all our hopes and dreams.

I would say him staying out of the sun had a lot to do with it.

I agree, the fact he kept night time hours in the studio and he was not a sun worshipper. Same with Madonna, she keeps herself covered really well too, if she goes out in the sun she is almost totally covered. Wish I followed suit, as an Aussie girl we love the sun and did not always take the care we should have when younger.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I wonder if he wore a facial moisturizer with sunscreen in it. Maybe his makeup had sunscreen in it.

Maybe our notions of time and age really are "cages".

For someone who allegedly slept 3-4 hours a day and sometimes forgot to rehydrate, it's nothing short of amazing how youthful he looked. I remember more than one journalist noticed he had "expensive looking" lotions in the studio, but no skin care product in the world can replace our skin's natural rejuvenation processes that occur when we sleep.

There's a part of me that still believes he was superhuman.

He used oil of Ulay and Clarins moisturiser.
My girlfriend asked me to find out when I visited the paisley celebration what he used .
I was told this by his personal assistant .

Yup.
I was also thinking about that article. I also think he was caffeine-feee and stayed away from stress. He meditates a lot and was comfortable in his skin.
He was also very well-protected, trusted his instincts to be so, and although he had his losses I don't think anyone was able to damage him.

who knows, i imagine staying out of the sun didn't hurt, he didn't look remotely his age until the last couple years. in one of the tavis smiley interviews he's in his early forties and actually looks younger than he did in his early twenties. you'd think his crazy work habits would leave him haggard but no, i guess not dealing with the same stresses the average john has to deal with has to have something to do with it too, being in control and enjoying it versus being at the mercy of a million assholes has to have a different effect on the physiology.

.
His skin definitely was not shaved. A depilatoey also acts as demarcation and removes dead skin layers.
I always thought he used something like that because he never had five o clock shadow under the makeup.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I can tell you that many, many years ago when I worked as a video editor in Minneapolis, one time I worked at an editing suite that Prince was at; he wasn't there when I was there; but he left his Oil of Olay there.

I think staying out of the sun is a huge factor. You didn't see him hanging out at the beach messing up his hair! I am older than him and between "black don't crack" genes and staying out of the sun I have no wrinkles. I moisturize everyday too, as I am sure he did. No sun is the key!

Thats great. Oil of Olay--was it a cleanser? Must have been. I have wondered if he ever got any plastic surgery done? He looked so different from his early years, but then again people with good gene's do age really well and look better as they get older. I am perplexed how good he looked --even up till 2009 when he sang the Crimson Clover song on Ellen's show..he was damn fine --even his hair. When he started growing his fro that's when there was another change.

No just the regular Oil of Olay moisturizer.

he did look different but i never thought he looked that differen, like MJ or others did. Of course he looked leaner and lighter than he did at the beginning of his career but maybe some of it was just makeup, his nose looked slightly thinner but not that much. Plastic surgery can really make you loo wierd and unnatural, I ran into a woman i know a couple days ago, white lady, i thought she was hispanic when i saw her, eyes were slanted, like they yanked her whole face back, her nose looked smaller, she had to remind me who she was, i was really wierded out by it and fellt kind of bad for her that she felt she needed that, she looked fine before, now she looks strange and unnatural. Also, she seemed a tad selfconscious about it too, rushing off without really talking. anyway, prince never looked that much different. and also, if he fought tooth and nail against hip surgery, i doubt he'd have been too eager to go to plastic surgery, the most useless surgery there is really.
