Finally heard the 1981 version of Tick, Tick, Bang!! Also, a funky instrumental called "Trouble" that doesn't seem to be listed in the Vault???
Every heard of it??

I don't think it's better than the GB version. I don't like the all synth sound. Too bad he couldn't have came up with a middle ground version between the two. Well who knows they're may be someplace. | |

I do enjoy the GB version - it's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine - but the original is, indeed, something else. Quite, quite deliciously brilliant. And, if I may say so, that is quite the playlist. | |

Indeed. The vocal version is on his first album. This instrumental version remains unreleased but originally appeared on the Studio Nights bootleg boxset back in 95,alongside 2 other non Prince tracks: another Andre instrumental and a Brown Mark demo titled Suzie Lovelace.
