It wouldn't be surprising if such a version existed indeed A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I think just stripping out the NPG operator segues, and restoring the original version of Endorphinmachine... this would be enough to fix TGE for me. Oh and maybe strip out some of the unnecessary sound effects library bits in other songs, such as TMBGITW.
Does anyone remember the "Golden Experience" tape copying thing that happened when it seems TGE might not get a studio release? My memory is playing tricks on me, was that any different from the studio version later released on CD?

I remember in 1994,a friend made me a cassette tape featuring the songs that were gonna be on the album."Eye Hate U" was a poorly recorded version that was played on the loudspeakers before one of Prince's concerts that year. You can hear a guy saying "This sounds like "Joy In Repetition",right?" on this tape,"Endorphinemachine" was slightly different than the version that was released. It sounded better to me...more raw and less polished.

My memory is playing tricks on me, was that any different from the studio version later released on CD? To my knowledge, no proper configuration of the album leaked be4 its release. There were a lot of boots featuring various versions of various Ulysses/Come/TGE/Exodus sessions tracks though. This tape must have been one of those. I can't prove it but I'm pretty sure that if Prince had put version 1 or 2 of Endorphinmachine on TGE and version 3 had leaked, everyone would say that they prefer version 3
. I also think the reason why so many people criticized many TGE tracks for being overpolished is because they're Dylan/Springsteen fans. Funk, pop, synthpop or electronic music fans in their right mind could never fancy such a notion (the first one to say "I'm a funk fan and yet I..." is to write 100 times "I will not be the statistically insignificant counterexample"). . I'm kinda pulling y'alls legs, of course, but I'm kinda serious as well [Edited 9/27/17 7:41am] A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I absolutely adore TGE but to have it released with Days of Wild and Acknowledge me (two of my top favourite Prince tracks) included would of taken it to another level for me. I imagine he probably just didn't want too many hip-hop type songs on there and wanted to balance it out a little. But damn, just imagining a tracklist of TGE as it is now including those two songs- fuuuuuck.
