The Best of Prince 1993-2003

Although he hasn't had much chart impact over the past decade, he sure has tried. I plan on making a thread covering all the compilations I've made, but until then, here's my latest creation. It's a 2 disc set of Prince's faster songs. The first disc is done. The other is on its way soon. The first is his funkier, more danceable songs. The 2nd is all rock. Below is a list of tracks, times and the reasons they were included. Tell me what you think.

Prince - Days Of Wild (80:10)

1. Days Of Wild - edit from Fantasia (3:45); included cuz it had a video and its a classic
2. Face Down - (3:17); a single and video
3. Pussy Control - w/ beginning removed (5:28 ); promo single and part of the Versace experience
4. Come On - radio edit (4:36); a single and video
5. Loose! - (3:26); it had a video and was played freqently on Detroit radio
6. 319 - (3:05); promo single and part of Showgirls
7. Hot Wit U - (5:11); planned as a single
8. Supercute - (4:15); a single
9. Mad Sex - (5:13); should've been a single and is played at every Paisley Park party.
10. 18 & Over - (5:40); a video
11. Ripopgodazippa - (4:37); part of Showgirls
12. Sleep Around - fade (4:38 ); should've been a single and performed on Oprah
13. Race - intro removed (4:17); a video
14. The Work Pt. 1 - edit (3:38 ); a single
15. Daisy Chain - (6:15); a single
16. Beautiful Strange - (5:55); had a whole special named after it
17. Love Sign - (4:32); a single and video
18. Letitgo - radio edit (4:14); a single

damn smiley face edit. 8)

As its been 10 years since the Hits/the b-sides, I think there should be a 1 disc set to cover the next ten years of "Hits". For the public's sake I think it should be:

1. Lovesign
2. Letitgo
3. Dinner with delores
4. Get wild
5. The most beautiful Girl in the world
6. The greatest romance ever sold
7. Dolphin
8. Betcha by golly wow!
9. The Work part 1
10.I hate U
11.Good Life
12.The Truth
13.Space
14.Holy River
15.Gold

I think some of my "semi converted" friends would like a copy of this!

Overburn, my dear. And I took of the beginning of Pussy Control, Days Of Wild, Race and used edits of Letitgo, etc. cuz they tie them too much to their parent album w/ the NPG operator, poetry and Mayte Spanish.

I honestly think that all his best songs in the 90s have been ballads.

Although he had all the components to play the funk, very few of those songs are funky.

Mad Sex is funky though!

This is a really good one, just drop Holy River for Mad Sex, and The Greatest Romance for I Love U But Don't Trust U Anymore (or So Far So PLeased)

Now is the worst track on the Gold Experience! Those gruff BG vocals make Prince sound cheesy as hell!

Thanks. I had to spread the wealth between albums. Now didn't seem quite as important as Pussy Control or 319, although it's just as good. Maybe I'll make an all rap disc of him sometime.
