Fantasy Tour Setlist Fellow Fans, imagine this... How would YOU construct the ULTIMATE PRINCE TOUR AND SERTLIST???
Here is mine:
The TIME open the show and play:
1) Get It Up 2) 777-9311 3) Cool 4) The Bird 5) Jungle Love
Then the stage goes dark...
Then...a lone purple light illuminating a purple piano...a lone figure emerges from the back of the stage...small and slight, the figure cross the stage in virtual darkness and takes his place at the piano...then as the crows still engulfs the arena in SCREAMS...the figure starts to play...
1) Little Red Corvette 2) Controvery 3) Dirty Mind 4) Do Me, Baby 5) I Wanna Be Your Lover 6) The Beautiful Ones
Then...the stage again goes dark...more figures come out out...then a LOUD AND DEEP VOICE BOOMS out across the stadium: "Don't worry...I won't hurt you...I only want you to have some fun...
Then THE LIGHTS come on and we see Prince and the Revolution on stage...they LAUNCH into...
7) Let's Work 8) D.M.S.R. 9) 1999 10) When You Were Mine 11) Let's Go Crazy 12) 17 Days 13) Raspberry Beret 14) Kiss
Then the band leaves the stage...and only Prince, Wendy, and Lisa emerge. Prince and Wendy with acoustic guitars, Lisa behind the purple piano..
15) Sometime It Snows In April 16) For The Tears In Your Eyes 17) I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore 18) Nothin Compares 2 U 19) Purple Rain
Then ENCORE...EVERYONE comes out, including Sheila E and Eric Leeds and The Horn Headz...
20) Mountains 21) The Glamorous Life 22) Baby I'm A Star 23) I Would Die 4 U

Ooohhkaayyy... There was a time when I had sleepless nights and I used to do this: make up imaginary set lists for imaginary concerts... Thankfully, those days (nights) are over, but... Let's play along here... If you have The Time as an opening act, they just have to do Gigolos Get Lonely Too.
As for the hypothetical Prince concert, I don't think you should have two ballads with an uptempo song in between (tracks 4-6 in your list.) Also, I Would Die 4 U isn't the best song to end with; better to have an all star jam on Raspberry Beter/Cool and A Love Bizarre. [Edited 9/21/17 12:44pm]

I have a couple I’ll post, here’s my first:
The Love 2 America tour This tour would happen under the assumption that Prince had lived. The set would be centered around the tumultuos socio-political climate of the day. Band would be the NPG (ideally, with a healthy John Blackwell and Rhonda back in the fold. Wendy & Lisa and Sheila E. will pop up on occasion. No Shelby or Liv.) 1. The Future (with Partyup coda) 2. America 3. 1999 4. Act of God 5. Controversy 6. Baltimore 7. Days of Wild — acoustic set - 8. 4 the Tears in Your Eyes 9. Welcome 2 the Dawn 10. 7 (starts off solo, then full band kicks in) 11. Money Don’t Matter 2 Nite 12. Dreamer 13. Annie Christian (in a similar arrangement to the 2013 performances of Something in the Water) 14. Crystal Ball — intermission - 15. Let’s Go Crazy 16. Take Me with U 17. Raspberry Beret 18. Cream 19. Cool 20. Let’s Work 21. U Got the Look 22. Love, Thy Will Be Done 23. The Cross — Encore 1 - 24. Purple Rain 25. Sign o’ the Times 26. Thieves in the Temple 27. When Doves Cry 28. I Would Die 4 U 29. Baby, I’m a Star - Encore 2 - 30. Kiss 31. Little Red Corvette — Encore 3 - 32. The Bird 33. Jungle Love 34. A Love Bizarre - Encore 4 - 35. The Love We Make 36. Mountains On some dates he’d add in Uptown and/or Still Would Stand All Time No medleys, sampler set, only doing one verse, etc. [Edited 9/21/17 14:54pm] [Edited 9/21/17 14:55pm] [Edited 9/21/17 14:58pm] [Edited 9/21/17 14:59pm] [Edited 9/21/17 15:00pm] [Edited 9/21/17 15:01pm]

Wendy rises up from the stage to play the guitar intro from Purple Rain for 10 minutes, until Prince walks up, sits at the piano and sings Purple and Gold. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

In 1997/98 Chris Rock asked 0+> what would be his dream band, he said Wendy & Lisa ... Sheila and couldn't finish. . So it would be cool to put together a set list for this group. . 0+> (guitar) Lisa Coleman (piano/keyboard) Sheila E (drums) Wendy Melvoin (guitar) Rhonda (bass) Susannah Melvoin (backing vocals) Marva (backing vocals)
