I do not remember Carmen saying that but maybe he told her that and gave her a coat just like the one Anna Fantastic has in her possession.

well apparently there're still some people believing vulnerability was a weakness. it's not. it's a strenght. a huge one. one not too many people would be capable of at least in such a public form ... prince was and not only that time. whoever that song really was about and how much about the story might be fiction or reality ... his emotion and his vulnerability were real and this song took his authenticity to a new level.

I do not think vulnerability is a weakness. I do think he wrote I hate you about so women he felt did him wrong and I do think he would write a song about finding a used condom. It comes up in LRC as well.

He said if you wanted to know about him just listen to the songs. It is all in the songs.

My post was in reply to the "condom story" - Who's the one who "found the condom"? Prince? And they really think he would make himself look a loser by talking about it? Yes. Anna was not happy about Carmen's post last year. It prompted her to get the coat out and post a photo although she had never intended to share it publicly.

I don't buy Carmen's statement really. I think she is downplaying her cheating to look a bit better. She has been mostly kind about Prince after his death even writing a long post on facebook relatively recently about how she really liked learning a lot of nice things about Prince since his death from people he knew. Just one example - and one that is even publicly known. This guy told people he never cried again after that phone call to his father back in the day, while it wasn't true. That's denying his vulnerability (and much more...), not embracing it.

I think even from the outside looking in , his vulnerability was apparent as well as his inability to face it. I never bought his statement about having not cried since childhood. He's tested up publically (awards etc)and seemed ashamed while doing so. His death even reinforces this inability to admit or face a very real vulnerability. I would argue that those who do not have the courage to face their vulnerability are at times the most vulnerable of us all.

I wholeheartedly agree.
