I saw "The Question of U" for the first time last week. (I'm only 31 years old, born in 1986.) Oh my goodnes, I love2 love2 it!!! At 1:24, when he climbs up on the piano and starts playing the guitar, I just melt faint drool. The guitar solo is pure awesomeness, and the dance routine is pretty nice too.

.

It's an edit of the full performance from the "Live at the Tokyo Dome" concert video that gets shown on TV every couple of years (and which is widely bootlegged). The "Electric Man" portion is edited out because that's a cover.

THe estate gets royalties for their play on youtube, they get nothing when people steal them. Either buy them or watch them on youtube, don't steal them.

The estate does not get royalties from YouTube - nobody does.

Monetization only works when commericals are added but only when a commercial is viewed but it must be in it's entirety.

Viewed commercials need to be in the multiple millions before any significant money is earned.

Also, to answer a point above from someone... the videos can be downloaded but only at 480p.

So this is not a revenue source for anyone so once again Prince was correct. Why waste time with a YOUTUBE site that does not bring in money.

It has nothing to do with a will. He signed a deal with WB and they had it amended after he passed. You realize that if Prince had a will once the probate was over and down the road the family could sell everything and someone would have set up a YOUTUBE channel.

He did not want a channel when he was alive because it simply would not have brought in any money. He is not dead so do you think he needs the pennies. The WB channel was set up by WB to try and get people to buy music from the WB catalgoe. Once the WB deal ends if it is not extended by the family the channel will be gone.

It has nothing to do with a will and some of you need to stop pretending he had not deals in place for his music before he died because their is a shit load of music and some video on Tidal and it has been there since 2015

Wrong, Laura.

wills and trust can only do so much to stop the estate from going rogue and doing what they want to do. at some point, all those controls go away and someone or a group gets control! The fact that he had no will and no trust and no real mechanism just makes it all happen faster.

Very cool. I was hoping Warner Bros. would upload videos from after the Hits/B-Sides collection. Those are the ones I haven't seen that often.

U're right! Let's hope it will come as it seems that they're uploading not always in a logical way. I thought about The Max, Blue Light, Gett Off Houstyle...

But it is not happening faster. The WB is still standing. The Tidal deal is still in place and Paisley Park is open all three we know he wanted. If had none of these deals in place and willed everything to his family we would be seeing total chaos and a massive sell off of assets.

You would not have a YOUTUBE channel, new music to listen to or any exhibits.

Dude is dead and he still cannot get credit for anything.

Then prove me wrong.

All of the deals he put in place or still alive and well as of today a year and half later.

Well the “Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson” sure doesn’t have problems removing stuff from YouTube. The latest, 2 videos around 14 minutes each of 3EG performing in Portland in 2013. Luckily I managed to save them down before they were removed. Video and audio quality wasn’t great but I’ll take any live video I can get at this point. I still think it’s BS that they’re removing this stuff. Who is it hurting financially? It’s not like there’s live video we can purchase legally from the Estate. Is some low quality cell phone video of 3EG performing I Like It There on YouTube really hurting the Estate? Please.

—The Estate May want to put up and channel or actually sell footage kind of hard to get people to buy stuff when they can see it for free. It really is not any different then the same point Prince made.

I hear you rogifan..

However ,making all of Princes work accessible from a single destination,

is a canny move.

It looks as if, the Official Channel will eventually

be populated with all the things that are currently being taken away from us.

Overall, since Commerica came on board there is traction

and with that good progress.

Prince made sure that everyone was gonna have to do The Work

He did enough of it...

As time goes by I am more and more amused if anything

by how things are unfolding

It seems to me that Prince was preparing for his death,

it was an age appropriate moove

leave all the cospiracy theories..

Prince was a practical man

In regards to the bolded, maybe the estate doesnt get that we dont mind Low Quality sound and visuals.

Maybe they are thinking that they only want to present Prince in a very Polished fashion..

Its all GOOD..

I dont mind if I never hear anything NEW Again...

I really dont...

He gave us SO MUCH

and in so many different ways..

I do want the world to listen to Princes Music though

it changed me

for the better

I bet a lot of us feel the same..

The Lovesymbol videos were released on VHS so those videos aren't new things. I do understand though that many fans no longer have a working VHS player so even if they did buy the 3 Chains O' Gold videocassette when it was released, they may have no way of seeing those videos again until now. Good for them.

Digital copies of the VHS exist on the interwho.

It seems that they've now slowed down from two to one a week, they must have realized they're getting out of material lol

Because most people have never seen them. WB stopped promoting this album after he started fighting with the company. I saw these on ABC one late night and the pop up on Dailymotion and that was it. I would very surprise if we see the videos for the Come album.

Because most people have never seen them. WB stopped promoting this album after he started fighting with the company.

It's not just that: the fact that the video album was released about 15 months after promotion for its audio conterpart and its single didn't help.

Add to that that in the meantime, Prince had changed his name to a symbol, started a war with his label, released a greatest hits package and several singles including a smash hit, had just released an experimental film on TV as well as a NPG Records sampler with a heavily played promo single/video, and that he was just in the process of releasing his newest studio album...

Those 15 months seemed like an eternity: to the world as well as to fans, the 1992 album was old news and no one cared about its video counterpart anymore.

Just to clarify, whilst advertising rates fluctuate on a daily basis, 1 Million views tends to get you around £1000 GBP,not sure ezactly what that is in dollars. So it is an income but a very small one for the estate, however it does keeps people interested in the exhibition or Paisley Park.

There are some younger fans who may not have copies of 3COG. This may explain why some of the fans did not see the videos until WB posted them on YouTube. Before I got a copy of 3COG, I found the videos for the prince album on a Portuguese website.
