I have one of the Intimate Moments CDs -- the solo piano performances in the home studio in the early 80s. It's fantastic. The rolling piano of 17 Days is one of my favorite Prince moments.

I put it on the stereo today for the first time in about a year. And I started questioning it just a bit. One of the cool things about the performances is the powerful deep register he sings in for many of the track. Today I paid that aspect closer attention and realized that I've never heard him singing quite that way on anything else, live or studio. Some songs are close, like I Love U in Me, but it's a little different.

We know that some bootlegs have been manipulated before they hit the street. Speeding up of Extralovable is one of the best examples, now that we've heard more recent boots of it, as well as its official releases. I wonder if Intimate Moments is slightly manipulated and makes the voice sound lower.

I just wanted to say the scream he does during 'Mary don't you weep' is on another level.

Haven't been able to listen to a note of his work since he passed but I can still hear that scream in my mind from intimate moments.

Also, how do you know that it's manipulated -- based on your ears or do you have a source? I'm not doubting you, just curious.
