Next time you pull a card...it better be an ace...or mothafucka you can lay FACE DOWN!
I liked it when it first came out. I still do.
I question the Mr. Hayes touching the mannequin's ass part doe.
It makes me feel some type of way.

I love love love it! The tune and the video. I liked it when Prince got pissy. And i liked it when he had fun with his work. It seemed out of place somewhat on Emancipation, but im glad he included it because its one of my favorite tracks. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

easily, one of Prince's worst songs ever... never saw the video...from what im reading, i dont think i ever want to see it... when i hear Face Down, im almost embarrassed for Prince...not that im worthy of feeling that way, but the song is such an ear-sore... he proved he can rap much better that that, even if it wasnt often...

prince's most authentic & legitimate rapping efforts are:
1."U Know" 2. "My Medallion" 3. "Y Should Eye Do That When Eye Can Do This" 4. "Silicon" [Edited 9/5/17 19:42pm]

great song, any song where prince references elvis, either vocally or in lyric is a great song. the strings were most likely done by the brilliant claire fischer. He was throwing shade and Elvis just like Rock in Roll is Alive And his cover of Fight the Power

oh god, don't get me started on this again, Prince was a huge Elvis fan, one of his managers said he saw him play acoustic guitar and sing the best elvis impressions he ever saw, might have been the same manager who said Prince "wanted to be Elvis". there are previous threads on this, he was a fan.

one thing i've thought of since he's passed is that face down points out the forces that leave men like elvis used up and "face down" and how it seemed prince had escaped that fate until last year.

Find the Las Vegas concert clip of this song. Only Prince would attempt to play Bass through his legs while hopping on one foot. What a daredevil.

He escaped being face down in the industry. No one can control health issues and Prince was working for himself so no dirt bag manager or record company overworked him. He overworked himself.
