Could you imagine (The Horror) if The Rainbow Children was a #1 smash?

It would have been nice if TRC was a #1 album. Besides having videos and singles to feed the demand and a follow-up record released shortly afterwards, could you imagine what else would happen? You would have Prince in the media more often (GREAT) speaking about god this and jesus that (oh no). Also, a possible Larry Graham documentary on how he influenced Prince to "Praise to the Jesus!" and how god has affected Larry's life...and so on...and

This is funny because it could have happened. But then again like Kevin Smith said when he confronted Prince on what some folks of the celebration were saying angrily about TRC he could have waved some of the the content off and said "people will make of it what they will". But I think he would have a lot to say about Family Name subject matter, and eventaully the religion. And you can just imagine the copy headers "Prince-from a Dirty Mind to a..." etc.

There'd be a re-release with a bonus DVD featuring those delightful "testimonial" focus group clips (was that part of what Kevin Smith did?)...but then, what am I thinking...it wouldn't be "bonus" at all...he'd charge our asses extra.
