I have set up a survey for org members to give their feedback to help the estate. The questions are designed to show what is important to the fans in terms of what content and formats are preferred, and how future releases from the estate are dealt with.

I would also like to say a big thank you to June7 for without their forward thinking to interview and put forward the org's questions to Sharon, we wouldn't be thinking that our opinions as fans would be listened to quite so closely.

It was pretty interesting to see the results so far. Personally, I'm all for downloadable content. I was also pretty surprised at how many people love those crusty old DVDs with the format's limited capabilities. I suppose, though, most Prince video material isn't going to be of particularly great quality.

This is a great idea. They family seems interested in our input and one day they will be in charge.

As a collector and an old fogey I like tangable items in my hands. I want CD's (or records) that I can rip into my computer. That way I have the tangable item for my collection and a digitalized version for my listening pleasure. I don't care either way about video as I'm not really interested in the video stuff.

Thanks June7! Let's build on the positivity you have started by interviewing Sharon and getting us to here. You have done a tremendous job with the interview and I am thankful. And thanks for making this post sticky!

I will post up the results in say a week or so? maybe 2 weeks? 227 completed it so far!

Thanks for setting this up. Lots of good questions, and it was nice seeing the stats at the end.

I've mentioned the negativity that permeates this board numerous times (and been negatively replied to as a result). There's been threads created where the first negative response appears within three posts, sometimes even the initial post is negative. Why does it have to be this way here? Prince was all about 'live 4 love' but apparently that doesn't trickle down to alot of members here. They'd rather spend 5 minutes typing up a negative response to someone's post rather than take three seconds to answer the query or just 'let it go'. Why?

What I take issue with is that for some reason we, as Org members, or fans or whatever, feel that we can not promote one thing without tearing down another.

The survey on the home page was prepared by me, after many requests to do so. I completed it and kept adding to it as things kept coming up. I never said it was the most complete survey but it was someething in lieu of nothing, and if I hadn't put it up y'all would have bitched at us for not doing anything.

So, why must we always be negative? Truth is, we should be thrilled that Sharon has even asked us to submit anything at all - and that was a direct result of the interview we were lucky to get!

Like I said, I am thrilled to include this, or actually replace the one I created and utilize this one instead, as I truly appreciate the labor that went into it, which was a lot more than I was willing to do. But, as with the interview, and many other things that happen around here (or when we - as in Orgers or Moderators, etc - do anything that has to do with Prince or our knowledge of Prince, or whatever), why must the initial response or involvement, or critique or etc., etc., be negative?

I think it's time we start attempting to be a little more civil towards eachother and less sanctimonious or bitchy or negative with each other in all aspects of this site ... it's always been something that really has bummed me out about the Org in general. I mean, we have Prince's sister here answering questions, and I've deleted snide remarks and rude posts and insensitive crap - and I think to myself - why is she even bothering?

I hope this doesn't come off as whiny, or bitchy or anything other than an attempt at becoming a little more civil to each other in general. It's something I'd love to see happen here.

Anyway - thanks for listening - and thank you tbokris for doing what you did, I truly appreciate your efforts and the time you took in doing this.
