A close buddy of mine (and a pretty serious P fan) - "The One" is his fave track of all time.

I like it, don't really love it.

But I liked Mayte's account of creating the video that she shared in her book. And the video itself is one of my fave P vids. The black and white bit with him as a hobo is priceless, the dramatic 'silent movie' facial expressions.

Not for me.

I think the Remix take away the magic of the moody groove of the original.

It's not a bad remix as itself, but I find it somewhat "by-the-numbers".

was this song/video the last official thing she worked with the Artist on?

It was included on the limited "Come On" EP sold only via internet by NPG Records (got it together with "The War" CDS back in these days).

After that it was only included in some bootleg release.

There are a couple of nice jams ("Come On," "Mad Sex"), and a sweet buttery soul ballad ("The One"), but ultimately this "Soul" provides more fodder for those who believe the Artist to be in dire need of an editor, producer or someone to separate the weak from the dope.
