If it was released in stores? I just finished a ballads disc covering the post name change years. I tried to use mostly singles, videos, soundtracks, special downloads and fan favorites to make it somewhat of a greatest ballads hits. I'm making a counterpart one for the more spiritual ballads. This is more about love songs and heartbreak. Tell me what you think.

La La might be perfect tho. I'm having trouble w/ She Spoke 2 Me too. It does fit nicely next to the jazzy songs around it, but it's kinda fast for this disc. The trouble is, the other 3 discs I'm making for 1993-2003, it wouldn't fit on at all. And I wanna include it on something. The other ones are a spiritual ballads disc (Holy River, Gold, etc.), an uptempo party disc (P Control, Face Down, etc.), and a rock disc (Dolphin, Endorphinmachine, Undertaker, etc.)

I thought maybe by When I Lay My Hands On U too. The sound of it just doesn't fit with the rest of them for me. It's got the dynamics of a fast song, but the tempo of a slow one. That's why I guess I justified She Spoke 2 Me. It's midtempo, but it's a ballad at heart.

Good selection and flow, other than a few spots. "She Spoke 2 Me" and "Muse 2 the Pharaoh" seem like oddballs. They could work, but not where they are put.

I really like the opening four tracks and the last five. Nice job.

think about how each of the songs begins and ends. that's how i try to place stuff. i think the way Wasted Kisses ends, it would sound great right before I Hate U.

I wasn't aiming for my favorites by any means, mostly just the ones that are representative of what he's been up to the past 10 years. Notice that the majority are singles. And TMBGITW is his biggest hit of that time period, so it seems like a fair enough opener to me. Plus, both of those songs really kick things off thematically. If you're stuck with songs that change the flow too much
at a certain point, I've found that often it helps to
include an instrumental and place it right before that
song. The instrumental kind of gives you a break from the
disc and just bubbles along, than you start another part
of the disc with that song that doesn't really fit in any
other place.

Plus, an instrumental about 1/3 and 2/3 through makes a
compilation disc a lot more stomachable in my experience.
It tends to get over-crowded otherwise. Like the B-sides
disc on HITS/BSIDES. I love those songs to death, but
they form a kind of assault on your senses when you try
to listen to them all the way through.
